Astellas Pharma Vietnam is looking for a Market Access Manager based in Hanoi.
Purpose of the position
- Play critical in developing and executing comprehensive MAx/GAx services to contribute to company’s strategy and achievement.
- MAx Manager is based in Vietna which direct reporting line to Head of Market Access and Government Affairs.
- MAx Manager is accountable for the development and effective implementation of local MAx/GAx strategy to support company’s achievement of strategy and business goals. He/She works in close collaboration with local functions in the affiliate and regional team. His/Her’s key focuses include localising market access strategy, understanding and tracking local healthcare system developments, identifying new opportunities for product access to Astellas’ life-saving products for patients in the local country and executing the plan nationwide.
- MAx Manager communicates and engages directly with internal and external stakeholders to promote product value.
- MAx Manager supports solving business related problems via developing specific MAx programs that promote access for Astellas’ innovate new pipeline and current products.
- Where needed MAx Manager supports other regional members in regional projects and in sharing/commucating market access updates and situation.
Core Tasks, Responsibilities
1. Healthcare System Knowledge
- Has a deep understanding of how political, economic, social and legal contexts determine how health systems operate and are influenced.
- Acquires knowledge of the Pricing, Reimbursement, Funding and Procurement mechanics of the local health care system(s) (processes, evidence needs and guiding regulatory and legal principles etc.)
- Understands decision-making processes and trends in health care financing and policy.
- Understands how health system(s) incentivise and dis-incentivise payer and stakeholder behaviour and decision making.
- Understands how local health system(s) fit into wider market archetypes (on global, regional and national levels) based on underlying system principles (i.e. type and nature of payer; sources of funding; approach to health technology appraisal)
- Anticipates power shifts between stakeholders and understands the wider implications of these changes to healthcare systems and pharmaceutical product access (e.g., increasing importance of non-prescribing stakeholders or shift of budgetary responsibility to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)).
- Identifies opportunities to shape the system to improve pricing, reimbursement and access, and create health system improvements enabled by our value offerings.
2.Market Access Strategy
- Develops and deploys tailored payer communication materials, anticipating payer interests/concerns and creating multiple possible solutions.
- Supports development of value creation strategies and plans for customers and stakeholders that go beyond the clinical evidence (e.g., Integrated Care, Patient Support Programs), to ensure, optimize and sustain access and product uptake.
3.Data and Analytics
- Understands how evidence is used in decision making and how it impacts various payers & their stakeholders (e.g., providers, patients, health systems).
4.Strategic Pricing and Contract Strategy
- Understands compliance considerations and risks of pricing practices (competitive law, antibribery regulations) and flags pricing practices which are in conflict with compliance requirements (competitive law, anti- bribery regulations).
- Understands cross-border pricing considerations arising from international reference pricing, parallel trade and cross-indication referencing, and has ability to deliver optimal country strategies in the context of wider corporate considerations.
- Knows innovative pricing models and managed entry schemes (e.g., risk identification, mitigation planning and performance management of schemes).
5.Market Access Execution
- Executes the tactics for MAx to support for NLED project for new drug, collaborate with HTA/NLED (reimbursement) project team to prepare dossier, follow up timeline, key objectives to meet requirement.
- Understands & applies basic principles of pharmaceutical industry pricing such as Value based pricing, Market Based pricing for pricing strategy implementation. Commits to engage in latest capability building activities and engage in global Market Access competency framework.
- Coordinates dossier preparation and conduct price negotiation for assigned products.
- Coordinate with Finance team for price declaration preparation under FIE as necessary. Keep e-pricing database up to date as required.
- Collaborates with regional team for MAx/GA projects and implement for VN as required.
- Leads the organization of MAx/GA activities and events (i.e. request, execute, close out, payment, budget record): sponsorship, expert meeting, training, consulting session, other advocacy activities.
- Leads, coordinates and communicates with other departments for cross function collaboration in different MAx projects.
- Actively participates in coalitions with appropriate external allied stakeholders for policy shaping for key priority impact on business: tender, price negotiation, reimbursement.
- Participates in relevant Astellas cross-functional teams to solve problems and identify novel, practical solutions for policy needs and changes.
6.Other tasks assigned by MAx/GA Head
Requirements
Business Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & English
- MAx basic knowledge, especially in pricing
- Understanding HTA structure & requirement in Vietnam
- Basic knowledge on policies for pharmaceuticals activities in Vietnam (especially drug procurements, reimbursement system)
- Organizational and planning skills;
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, often juggling several tasks at once
- Project management skills
- Accuracy and good attention to detail
- Proficiency in English speaking & writing

Qualification
- Bachelor Degree on Business Management/Pharmaceutical, Master Degree/ Project management is preferred.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in pharmaceuticals industry
- Minimum 3 year experience in Market Access field
