THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a leading provider of workers' compensation insurance and claims management services in Australia. Join our dynamic team as a Senior System Security Engineer, where you’ll drive essential security initiatives to protect critical data, applications, and infrastructure. Supported by the System team, you’ll lead security awareness training to strengthen practices across teams.

This role requires experience in System Security and network protocols such as TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SSH, IPsec, Kerberos, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, and SOC.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security events, investigating potential incidents and supporting resolution efforts.
• Identify and mitigate security risks across networks, servers, and workstations.
• Review and validate software tools for safety and business alignment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security in software processes.
• Automate workflows to enhance security efficiency and reduce cycle time.
• Recommend improvements for organizational security.
• Provide regular security updates to management.
• Document security practices for continuous improvement.
• Stay informed on security trends and conduct training sessions.
  
  
  

Skills, Experience & Qualification

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in roles such as System & Network Engineer or similar, with a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, network security, system security
• Experience in performing vulnerability assessment & remediation activities
• Experience with intrusion & malware detection/protection solutions (SentinelOne)
