This position reports directly to the Hotel General Manager and needs to be highly familiar with the systems in place within the Hotel, so that can provide effective support to the other team members while on duty.

Additionally, Chief Engineer maintains liaison with Technical Services Manager to follow up on the engineering and technical services requirements for the Wink Hotels including the company and government initiated technical and occupational health and safety programs.

• Executing and maintaining accurate, timely controls based on performance standards, measurements, evaluation and correction which will ensure that authorized plans of the Engineering Department are accomplished

• Controlling and maintaining a preventive maintenance system while ensuring that the power and water supply, telecommunication facility, drainage, sewage and other engineering facilities are consistently adequate and in good condition

• Ensuring inspection of the facility / equipment are conducted on a daily basis and reporting are properly documented

• Defining scope of work and schedules and completing with minimum disruption in operations

• Prioritizing work orders according to its importance to operations as it addresses the needs of the guests in a timely manner

• Informing Hotel General Manager all the status of licenses related to engineering systems and safety standards are complied with accordingly

• Maintaining a checklist for subcontractors to ensure that the scope of work is properly defined and understood and accomplished according to agreed schedules

• Ensuring that warranties on the scope of work is reviewed on a regular basis and included in the terms of agreement

• Implementing and maintaining an energy conservation program and disseminating advantages of the program to all department the hotel operations team to gain commitment; identifying areas / facility to be included in the program and specifying action to be taken while monitoring the program daily

• Coordinating and participating in the engineering / technical related projects and activities

• Executing, leading, coordinating and participating in the engineering / technical related safety, skill, technique and on the job training activities

• Organizing, coordinating and executing the engineering / technical related assessments and or audit requirements

• Executing on other assigned tasks from Hotel General Manager while on duty

Operations Services and Support – Technical, Occupational Health and Safety Programs

• Coordinate, support and work with Security manager to ensure all building safety equipment such as fire alarm system, fire protection system and fire extinguishers, among others, are always in good condition

• Submitting monthly inspection report on safety equipment indicating the status and operability

• Monitoring machines and equipment spread across general mechanics, industrial maintenance mechanics, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics, and tank mechanics

• In coordination with the Corporate Health and Safety Committee, acting in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the management and associates

• Conducting investigation of accidents as member of the health and safety committee and submitting separate report and analysis of accidents to the management

• Formulating programs to remove hazards from the workplace and recommending rectification of unsafe work practices

• Conducting health and safety inspection as member of the committee

• Maintaining an efficient accident record system and coordinating actions taken by direct manager and Technical Services Manager to eliminate accident causes

• Providing assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any related programs

• In coordination with the HR department and L&D department, providing all health and safety training programs for the associates and the management

Preparing all government mandated reports on technical safety and other related matters

• Higher Diploma in Engineering; certification of Technical, Occupational Health and Safety Programs courses a plus

• Fair written and verbal communication skills (verbal, written and comprehension) in both Vietnamese and English

• Proven hands-on experience in the Engineering and Maintenance arena in a similar capacity with an attitude to deliver and have exceptional knowledge of engineering practices and measures

• Ability to offer solutions, anticipate problems and provide action plan formulation; provide high level of attention to detail

• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
