About the role​

As a New Product Development Team Leader at Lovepop Cards, you will oversee the creation and launch of innovative 3D greeting cards and paper products. Your role involves guiding a product innovation team (five people) through the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept to market introduction, ensuring alignment with Lovepop's commitment to artistry and customer delight.

Accountabilities

• Strategic Planning
  

Product Roadmap Development: Collaborate with senior leadership (US-VN) to define and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with Lovepop's strategic objectives and market demands.​Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the product development process and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.​

• Innovation and Ideation
  

Idea Generation: Foster a culture of creativity by organizing brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative product ideas.​Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of new product concepts to determine their viability and alignment with company goals.​

• Product Development
  

Oversee the development process, including concept approval, technical data sheet/ technical drawing/ artwork creation, prototyping, testing, and final production.Partner with internal teams (US Merchandising, US-VN Design, R&D, Procurement, Product Setup, Marketing, and Supply chain) to coordinate resources and ensure seamless execution.Evaluate and optimize manufacturing feasibility and scalability for new products.

• Process Optimization
  

Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the product development lifecycle.Documentation: Ensure all aspects of product development are thoroughly documented, facilitating knowledge sharing and compliance with industry standards.​

• Quality Assurance and Testing
  

Collaborate with the QA team to ensure all new products meet Lovepop’s high-quality standards for design, materials, and durability.Oversee prototype and sample testing, ensuring customer-centric usability and visual impact.Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure all new products comply with 3rd parties’ regulations 

• Stakeholder Engagement
  

Customer Feedback Integration: Actively seek and incorporate internal/ external customer feedback into product development to ensure offerings meet or exceed customer expectations.Vendor and Partner Collaboration: Build relationships with external vendors and partners to leverage additional expertise and resources in the development process.​

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.​
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in product development, ideally in the greeting cards, gifting, or consumer goods industries
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with design software and an understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to paper products, including printing and packaging
• Communication: Both in English & Vietnamese - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and feedback clearly.​
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify challenges and develop effective solutions throughout the product development cycle
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with strong organizational and decision-making capabilities.​
