We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager with a proven track record of hands-on management of large software development projects, ideally in the Fintech space. The role is based in Hanoi and reports into the APAC Head of Delivery.
What are the responsibilities of the role?- Overall delivery responsibility for a portfolio of Agile software development projects
- Understanding the client's pain points, strategic trends and initiatives and positioning GFT together with the Client Manager by providing relevant solutions and driving ‘Delivery led Growth’
- Pre-sales / Proposal support
- Engaging the client, together with the Sales / Client Manager, to gather requirements and understand their challenge(s)
- Help to shape and develop the appropriate delivery solution (working closely with the Sales lead, Technical solution architect(s) and others) by determining the right skillsets, team sizing, hiring needs, etc. including setting up the proposal in GFT’s PSA toolset (Kimble)
- Project Delivery
- Review the project planning and monitoring work products regularly with the Project Manager
- Ensure that the project/program adheres to the agreed budget and Schedule
- Support the Project Manager in the communication with the customer
- Prepare Project status reports for the Client Steering Committee
- Monitor and review customer satisfaction
- Manage change request together with the Client Manager
- Address escalations from Project Manager (internal) or client (external) about project risks and issues
- Support the Operations team in the invoicing process (e.g., month end timesheets)
- Quality Management and Process Compliance
- Act as Champion for Quality Management
- Communicate the applicable policies and processes to the project/program
- Ensure that proposal, project set-up and project execution are done according to GFT’s policies and processes
- Review the quality reports with respect to the project/program
- Monitor and track non-compliance issues
- Project Team management
- Assign Project Manager/s to the project/s
- Ensure adequate staffing and training
- Ensure clear definition of responsibilities
- Ensure commitment of the project team to the project plan
- Motivate, coach and mentor team members
What is the required knowledge/experience?
- 8+ years of experience leading multi-regional/distributed Agile development project teams for international clients
- Must have experience in the Banking sector
- Outstanding verbal and written English skills, and experience communicating with staff at all levels
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology
- Solution Architecture/ Engineering Manager skills are a plus
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Technical background is advantageous to enable understanding of technical decisions and drive communication with the Product team and/or Client team on client-facing projects, conducting scoping and defining deliverables
- A ‘roll your sleeves up’ attitude, especially in a Start-up culture
- Enjoys coaching and mentoring team members
- Problem-solving, sense of ownership, and a proven track record in leadership
