Roles and Responsibilities

Understanding Measurement Methods & Construction Elements

• Demonstrate a high understanding of Standard Method of Measurements (SMM) and building elements.
• Review designs to determine whether they provide sufficient information for BQ measurement.
• Contact design consultants for inquiries regarding outstanding design information or discrepancies.

Cost Estimation & Quantity Management

• Prepare Cost Estimation, Cost Plan, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Pre-tender Estimate (PTE), and Value Engineering (VE) to a high standard.
• Monitor, manage, and check BOQ for accuracy and completeness.
• Describe, measure, and bulk-check quantities of architectural, structural, and infrastructure trades accurately.

Pricing & Cost Control

• Understand the level of rates and, when required, build up rates for architectural, structural, and infrastructure trades accurately.
• Contact local and international vendors for pricing and update material price trends in the market.
• Manage and improve cost databases and other project-related databases.

Tender & Contract Management

• Complete Tender and Contract Documents following the FIDIC form of contract.
• Prepare Interim Payment Certificates, Variation estimations, and Final Accounts for projects.

Financial Reporting & Documentation

• Undertake cost analysis and maintain records of project cost summaries.
• Assist Senior QS in preparing financial reports and statements.
• Attend project meetings, take notes, and prepare Minutes of Meetings (MoM) when required.

Team Support & Training

• Assist in training Assistant Quantity Surveyors and subordinates.
• Manage deadlines and work independently to complete tasks and meet deliverable expectations.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Construction Economics, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.

·      QS certification is a plus. (Cost Verification Level II, III)

·      English proficiency (TOEIC 600+ or IELTS 5.0+).

·      Minimum 3 years of experience in QS.

Skills & Attributes:

·      Solid understanding of QS processes, cost estimation, and contract administration.

·      Ability to prepare BOQs, cost plans, and reports.

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·      Good communication and teamwork skills.

·      Proficient in QS software and Microsoft Office.

·      Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet deadlines.

·      High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
