JOB SCOPE:

*** AIMs:
• Strategically coordinate curriculum planning and support within and across departments.
• Work alongside the teachers to review and implement a new assessment policy.
• Develop the knowledge and skills of Heads of Department, to ensure they can embed both meaningful formative/diagnostic assessment in their curriculum and track progress to inform subsequent teaching.
• Develop the knowledge and skills of teaching staff, to ensure they can embed meaningful formative/diagnostic assessment in their daily practice to ensure rapid student progress.
• Work with Vice President, Curriculum to embed metacognition and self-regulation in both teacher practice and student behaviours.
• Develop a reporting process that supports all students to make exceptional progress and meets the needs of parents.
• Have strategic oversight of whole program to achieve company goals.
• Strategically lead planning for teacher workload issues.

The main expectations of the role are as follows:
*** CURRICULUM
• Ensure that the curriculum is coherently planned and sequenced within and across subjects.
• Ensure that teachers and leaders use assessment effectively, for example to help learners embed and use knowledge fluently or to check understanding and inform teaching.
• Develop the knowledge and skills of leaders, ensuring the limitations of assessment are understood and that assessment does not create unnecessary burdens for staff or learners.

*** TEACHING AND LEARNING
• To work with the teachers in the development of teaching and learning.
• Contribute to policy decisions that relate to teaching and learning.
• To help create and maintain a learning culture that enables students to become effective and enthusiastic in learning
• Promote the active involvement of student in their learning
• Support strategies to promote high standards programs.
• Monitor and inspect Teachers to maintain high standards in lesson delivery

*** MANAGING THE ORGANISATION
• To help build and maintain organisational structures and systems that distribute leadership and enable the academic team to run efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis.
• Taking responsibility for the Appraisal/Performance Management of identified teachers.
• To liaise with outside agencies as appropriate to secure outstanding support for students.
• To contribute to the development of leaders at all levels throughout the programs.
