We at PLAYSTUDIOS have the pleasure of working on multiple games, from “POP! Slots”, a real-time MMO (massively multiplayer online) game, played by millions of users across the world, with new features released on a daily basis, to our latest addition of the Tetris brand.

Our Java Backend team is responsible for building high-scale cloud-based real-time systems, while facing unique challenges in the multiplayer world.

We love clean architecture and implementations that plan ahead and see the big picture (product-wise and technology-wise), we encourage learning (and failing) and sharing, and we deeply believe in taking responsibility and ownership on our projects.

We’re looking for a team player with strong communication skills, who’s not afraid of asking others and of self-learning. While having constant guidance, we expect you to quickly grasp complex systems and to take full ownership of your domain.

Responsibilities

• Develop the backend services of our core game and features - from infrastructure to game logic, in Java and in Lua.
• Execute full software development lifecycle: architect, design, implement, test (Unit, Integration & Manual testing), deploy and monitor.
• Develop microservice-based distributed systems, both from scratch and by decomposing legacy components.
• Investigate and solve production issues.
• Ensure stability, security, performance and architectural cleanliness of our system.
• Push and develop efficiency initiatives for our dev teams and the whole pipeline.

Qualifications

• B.Sc in Computer Science or other equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Java skills and object-oriented design experiences
• Good command of English - written and spoken

Advantages:

• Experience with Spring framework (Spring, Spring Boot etc.)
• Experience with Message brokers or Stream-processing solutions (RabbitMQ/Kafka etc.)

• Experience with Splunk or other log analysis tool
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM
