Purpose Statement:

This position as Lead of Vietnam Strategic Sourcing would serve as the key leader and representative of Global Supply Management function locally. This role would require to interact with many stakeholders from different business functions and management team with a lot of visibility and potential expansion along with the growth of Corning footprints in Vietnam.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Sourcing of Direct materials, Indirect materials, contract manufacturers or professional services to meet the new business development or expansion requirements.
• Perform RFI/RFQ and negotiate with suppliers for the best possible outcome.
• Lead or support the suppliers on-boarding including but not limited to contract negotiation, supplier audits and qualifications.
• Lead or support operation issues and challenges, communication and follow up with suppliers as required.
• Establish project charter and develop business case for any opportunity that would lead to values add to the business operation which might include cost savings, cashflow improvement or cost avoidance.
• Follow up on local trade compliance, import/export rules and regulations, serving as local subject matter expert and provide guidance and education to respective stakeholders, ensuring compliance while maximizing values to the organization.
• Support local market and suppliers intelligence, when a specific event arise or request from business stakeholders

Required Skills:

• B.S degree in technical or business discipline
• Clarity of English command (both way)
• Strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management experiences
• Good knowledge of contracting and purchasing terms and conditions, experience in contract negotiation
• Good knowledge in cost analysis and experience in cost breakdown, demonstrated good result in cost savings
• 10+ years’ experience in supply chain or global supply management function
• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations with demonstrated experience of problem solving, decision making and project management skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations with demonstrated experience of demand planning, material management, production management and quality management

Desired Skills:

• Prior knowledge in performance excellence, lean, six sigma methodology and practices is a plus
• Project management and business model creation skills is a high plus
• Good understanding and experiences in trade compliance, import and export rules and regulations is a high plus
