We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled AI/ML Engineer to join our team for an exciting engagement with one of our clients – TRG, a DeepTech company building high-trust AI platforms for education, compliance, and knowledge-centric domains.

Our project will work with teams across Singapore, India, and the UK. They specialize in building infrastructure for interpretable, precise, and domain-aligned AI, focusing on advanced retrieval systems, knowledge grounding, agentic reasoning, and explainability in LLM environments.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and rapid prototyping of AI systems that go beyond generic tooling, delivering real impact in sensitive and high-stakes domains.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and prototype GenAI workflows using LLMs, prompt chaining, and agentic frameworks.
• Develop intelligent pipelines for document understanding, retrieval, and reasoning.
• Integrate symbolic search techniques (e.g., BM25, SPLADE) and multimodal processing tools (e.g., TrOCR, SimCLR).
• Fine-tune or adapt open-source LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Qwen) for domain-specific tasks.
• Build microservices or notebooks demonstrating PoCs with performance and explainability in mind.
• Develop data pipelines for structured/unstructured data ingestion, tagging, indexing.
• Work closely with non-technical stakeholders to define and refine AI objectives.
• Stay updated with the latest GenAI/LLM innovations and contribute to internal best practices.
• Support infrastructure, deployment, and MLOps where needed.
  
  

What We' Re Looking For

Must-Have

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience in building GenAI or AI/ML applications.
• Proficiency with Python and frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, HuggingFace Transformers.
• Solid experience in prompt engineering and evaluating LLM-based systems.
• Strong understanding of information retrieval, knowledge graphs, and/or explainable search.
• Ability to work independently with fast iteration and experimentation.
• Strong analytical thinking, with clear and concise communication in English.
  
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in building or evaluating explainable AI systems.
• Exposure to symbolic reasoning, taxonomy design, or educational/compliance domains.
• Experience with OCR, multimodal data processing, and AI safety principles.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, Airflow, W&B) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with building REST APIs, containerized services (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Knowledge of data privacy and security principles related to AI and machine learning.
