Describe a person you follow on social media | Bài mẫu Speaking Part 2, 3
Bài mẫu:
I don’t tend to follow a lot of people on social media, but one who I could remember is Nick Mullen, an American comic and actor.
I first knew him from YouTube clips of his stand-up comedy work, where he came off as a frequent face of the New York comedy scene. And through YouTube, I also learned of his podcast and social media account on Twitter. It turns out that Nick has an even larger following on the Internet. Fortunately, Nick doesn’t separate his Twitter presence into a personal account and public account like so many people, so it’s easier to catch up with his thoughts at any time.
Nick’s posts on his Twitter feed consist almost entirely of jokes, save for the few posts where he advertises his tour dates. The jokes are exhilarating for being a combination of satire, pop culture knowledge and Internet culture. However, they might be off-putting to people who haven’t been on the Internet for a long time, as these people will have a harder time seeing what’s funny in Nick’s jokes. Still, the posts are apolitical and without any severity, which might explain why so many people follow Nick.
All in all, Nick’s Twitter is a source of comedic relief on the virtual space. I’d definitely say that it’s a refreshing breeze of wind on social media, which is frequently flooded with depressing and humorless information.

Today I’m happy to share with you about a lady who I follow on social media.
Her name is Trac Thuy Mieu, a famous MC and journalist who is well-known for her intelligence and outstanding sharing skills on her own Facebook and Youtube page. She is kind of a gentle and charming 50-year-old woman who usually appears in her charming ao dai outfit.
I first saw her when she attended the Bar Talk Show hosted by Dustin Nguyen. Needless to say, I was convinced pretty quickly by her aura during the show and decided to become her fan. Thanks to following her videos, I have learnt many meaningful things in life. Everytime she appears, she would dress herself in either ao dai or rather seductive sleeping outfit with a cigarette in hand, sipping wine and sharing her thoughts about certain life issues like loving relationships, public health, and emotional crisis.
I really like her because she has an aura that attracts people to listen to her. Besides, she is also pretty knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with some dramas that not many of us know how to control or solve. From her, I have obtained a perfect shield to cope with a number of life troubles.
That is all I would like. Thank you for your listening.

Tôi thấy cô ấy lần đầu khi tham gia chương trình Bar Talk Show do Dustin Nguyễn dẫn chương trình.
Well… I have to admit that I follow a lot of accounts on social networking sites, especially those that post things about topics I am interested in like interior design, yoga, art, etc. So today, I would love to talk about my favourite internet sensation. One account I follow on social media is of Gordon Ramsay. He is an internationally renowned and multi-Michelin starred chef who’s famous for posting cooking videos on Facebook and Youtube.
For the record, cooking is a daunting task for me as I would mostly eat outside or food that my mother would make. All I could make by myself was rice, tea, instant precooked meals and a few more. During covid time I couldn’t go out and started to crave dishes I ate out in restaurants. I started to look online for recipes to make those dishes at home. On YouTube, I came across a video for making Buttermilk fried chicken. It’s one of my go-to dishes whenever I come to the restaurant. The video was quite short (about 6 minutes) but explained the process thoroughly. The thing that I’m keen on his video is that he always uses common ingredients in his dishes, not to mention the background music and presentation were very subtle.
I got hooked and started to follow his YouTube account. I even started following him on Facebook and Instagram. After some research, I also found out that he was the food producer for TV show Master Chef and worked with great chefs like Graham Elliot and restaurateur Joe Bastianich.
He not only posts a lot of recipes on his social media accounts but also goes live on his accounts every once in a while, to interact with his fans, and makes recipes live. There’s even shows that he teaches basic skills like chopping, seasoning and how to control temperature in cooking. All his posts are mainly about food but sometimes he posts about his family, his parents, his wife, and his team. I follow him not only for his recipes but also because I find him to be a very humble, kind human being.
At last, I would just tell you that he has a great personality, and it is no wonder that he has so many followers.
l’d like to talk about my favorite singer whose name is Jane. She is an English singer. She is 24 years old. I am interested in singing and I like Jane’s songs very much. I usually search online for some information about her.
I still remember it was probably two months ago. My best friend told me that Jane posted her new song on her social media called Tiktok, so I installed Tiktok on my mobile phone. I opened Jane’s account and found that she had a lot of followers. I immediately followed her, too.
Jane posts many beautiful songs. In addition, she shares some videos to teach singing skills. I like singing very much. That is why I want to follow her on social media. Every time she posts a new video, I can watch it at once. I watch her videos and practice singing every day. I find that I have improved my singing skills. I can sing better than before. I feel very excited.
Jane has a pleasant personality. She is patient to answer all kinds of questions from her fans. Sometimes she offers live stream classes and teaches people how to sing her songs. No wonder so
many people like her. I will recommend Jane to my friends. I am sure they will follow her, too.
I think this is true, but only to a certain extent. Older people and younger people will use the same kind of social networking apps to communicate with each other, but the youth will be using different software to talk among themselves. This is already the case with people I know. Friends my age would use a certain Vietnamese app to keep in touch with their older relatives and family members, but when they need to catch up with other young adults, Messenger, which is an international app, tends to be the place.
I don’t think so, because they belong to a different time, before social media was a thing. They learned to pick up actual hobbies and interests, and so their use of time is better. However, with the situation being almost everybody owning a presence on the Internet, I think there are always exceptions to what I said earlier. Social media can be very tempting to anybody regardless of age.
I think the main difference between them lies in the diversity of contributors. On mass media, only the reporters may provide the news, and even then the information has to be edited and cut up before it’s displayed, so what’s presented is far from being the entire picture.
Meanwhile, on social media, anybody can be a source of information, so there is a more diverse interpretation of events, and as a result, the truth is usually somewhere in between. However, this is also why social media news is more prone to having false claims. I’m putting this out there anyway because I’m quite partial to social media and I haven’t actively watched TV for years.
Partial to sth (adj.): thiên vị điều gì đó
