IELTS Speaking Part 1 - Topic: Technology
Do you use any gadgets on a daily basis?
Yes, absolutely. Honestly, I am not a geek but I’m extremely passionate about technological devices such as smartphones and tablets. In a nutshell, we’re living in the computer era and there is no reason to overlook cutting-edge technology.
How often do you use the internet?
The internet is an indispensable part of my daily grind. It’s really beneficial for my studies and helps me to relax. Surfing the Internet is my hobby during my downtime. Frequently, I browse websites to buy something on e-commerce platforms or to search for information. I often video conference with my classmates for class projects.
How much time do you spend using a computer at work or at home?
I work on the computer for about 4 to 6 hours every day, either to do projects or my home homework. It is useful for other extra-hour activities, too, including watching YouTube, editing my new videos and podcasts, and chatting with my friends, all of which can take up to two hours every day.
Have you ever bought anything online?
I recently purchased a lot of items online, mostly from e-commerce platforms. Sometimes I think I'm addicted to shopping, but I can't seem to stay away from the tempting promotion deals. My last purchase was a cleaning kit for my cute dogs.
Do you believe that people today rely too much on technology?
Honestly, I have to admit that technology gives us numerous benefits. But in fact, people nowadays do rely on technological devices a lot. In some cases, it can damage our relationships and mental health. For example, students are wired to use smartphones all day and neglect their studies, which can lead to bad academic performance.

Bài mẫu 1
I have a few technology gadgets at home, some of which were bought for me and others that I bought on my own by saving money. My desktop computer was given to me by my parents when I was a high school student in order to study more efficiently. The most important piece of technology I bought, however, is my laptop. I bought it with my first month’s salary I received after graduation.
My laptop is from Apple, and it is called a Macbook. I’ve been dreaming about it for years, and I was delighted when I first unboxed the brand new device. I chose the gray color option because it looked really futuristic and clean. Its screen is extremely vibrant and sharp.
It is definitely an integral part of my life because I use it for work and entertainment, as well as keeping in contact with my classmates and co-workers. At first, computers were confusing to me, so I had to do research on the internet myself to set up the systems.
I could say that I cannot live without my laptop because it enables me to work anytime and anywhere as long as there is a wifi connection.

Bài mẫu 2
I have to admit that I’m a real Internet addict who can’t live a day without scrolling through my social media . So if I had to talk about one piece of technology that comes in handy, it would definitely be my iPhone.
My parents gave it to me four years ago as a gift for my high school graduation, and I’ve used it every day ever since. It was the most cutting-edge Apple iPhone available at the time, jam-packed with useful extras like games and productivity apps, which lived up to my expectations.
Though I know that staring at a screen for more than 6 hours a day is bad for my eyes, I find that I cannot spend more than a few hours without checking my phone. There’s no denying the positive and negative effects this multipurpose equipment has had on my life. I can now look up terms, take notes, take pictures, listen to music, and watch movies all on the screen of my phone, eliminating the need for a dictionary, notebooks, cameras, music players, and televisions.
When I’m on the go, I can use my phone instead of lugging around a big laptop so that I can write and revise things. Furthermore, I save a lot of time and money by not having to physically visit places because of online purchasing and the alerts I receive when deals become available. The problem is that I’ve become too reliant on it. It kills me when my phone suddenly dies or if I leave it at home when I go out. Needless to say, I’ve benefited greatly from having access to this phone for work and school, but I’m considering cutting back on my usage for health reasons.

Câu hỏi, câu trả lời mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Topic: Technology
Do you think we need to understand computers on a deeper level?
I believe that understanding how to use a computer is essential for people in this digital age. The first and most fundamental thing to know is about Microsoft Office applications. Nowadays, all things are digitized, and computer literacy is a must for every corporation. Besides, everyone of us now has a virtual life on the Internet.
What I mean by social networking sites Being able to use social media effectively means you can connect to people better, which facilitates your life.
What is the most impactful piece of technology in our time?
As I mentioned before, I think that social media is the most powerful invention of humans so far. Maybe I’m a little biased because I work in the digital marketing field.
Social media plays a pivotal role in communications between businesses and consumers or between organizations and residents. In the past, people could acknowledge information from official publishers or websites, but now social media users can easily access the news immediately through user-generated content from fan pages.
How do computers affect our everyday life?
On the whole, I would say positively that computers benefit us significantly in terms of apps for education as well as work. They also provide a large number of other tools for researching and writing an essay.
Let’s take money transactions as an example. In the past, people needed to meet a banker to withdraw cash, but now there are internet banking systems and ATM machines. So technology makes everything in our society better.
What modern technological devices are most common in your country?
From my observation, smartphones are widely used among people of all ages and walks of life. Everyone has a smartphone for himself or herself to communicate with others. Besides, smartphones are definitely so portable and handy that they can replace the work of other devices like laptops or tablets in unexpected situations.
What are the advantages of modern technology?
There is no denying that technology has numerous advantages in terms of communication and entertainment, but I think education is where it really excels.
I say this because everyone has the ability to learn thanks to technological advancements like the internet. I mean, traditional education is far more expensive than the internet, which has no restrictions.
For instance, a few decades ago, if a person lived in a remote or underdeveloped location, they might not have had access to a library or a good school. As a result, it was probably very challenging for them to improve their knowledge. Nowadays, almost any subject can be learned online from anywhere in the world as long as you have a wifi connection.
