- To ensure that all Rules and Regulations regarding safety at sea are complied with at all times.
- To assist the Boat Captain as directed – at sea, mooring or anchorage.
- To keep lookout for reefs and boats as directed by the Boat Captain.
- To clean and maintain the hotel’s boats in accordance with departmental standards and manufacturer’s instructions.
- To ensure that all work areas are kept clean and tidy, and that boat tools and equipment are handled and used according to
departmental procedure and manufacturer’s instructions.
- To maintain all the boat’s ropes as directed by the Boat Captain.
- To collect supplies of fuel and load onboard the boat in accordance with departmental procedures.
- To assist guests on and off the boat in a professional and courteous manner.
- To address guests by name in accordance with the hotel’s Guest Recognition Program.
- To load and unload guest luggage and supplies from the boat as directed.
- To ensure the boat’s fridge (if applicable) has supplies of fresh drinking water at all times.
- To ensure that clean, fresh cold towels are available from the boat’s fridge (if applicable).
- To report all work performed and any abnormal incidents to the Senior Boat Mechanic.
- To assist in all general works of the Transportation Department as required.
- To ensure that all department reports and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually, if required.
