- To ensure that all Rules and Regulations regarding safety at sea are complied with at all times.
- To use all navigational aids and safety equipment and to steer the boat, at all times, in a manner which safeguards all passengers,
crew and company assets.
- To ensure that boats are anchored, moored and tied up in a manner which ensures their safety, and that of passengers and cargo, at
all times.
- To ensure that the recommended speed is maintained within the lagoon, proximity to the islands and to Male’ / Airport.
- To respect boat schedules at all times in order to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
- To clean and maintain the hotel’s boats in accordance with departmental standards and manufacturer’s instructions.
- To report all defects to the Department Head in accordance with hotel procedures and to follow-up on such requests in order to
ensure that the down-time of boats is kept to a minimum.
- To report all work performed and any abnormal incidents to the Boat Mechanic and Department Head.
- To ensure that all work areas are kept clean and tidy, and that boat tools and equipment are handled and used according to
departmental procedure and manufacturer’s instructions.
- To ensure that all the boat’s ropes are maintained in accordance with departmental standards.
- To make and maintain the boat’s moorings and to keep watch on boats at anchor or moored in order to prevent them from damage.
- To take part in rescue or salvage operations, should the need arise.
