The Role

Are you passionate about harnessing data to drive impactful organizational changes? Ascenda Loyalty is seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our recently formed and rapidly growing Data Science team. As a Data Scientist, you will be leveraging rich data assets we have here in Ascenda to build impactful and meaningful data products that deliver economic value to our customers and partners. Working at the intersection of data science and business strategy, you will craft intelligent systems that transform how loyalty programs operate. We look forward to meeting you!

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Opportunity Identification: Identify operational challenges and translate them into opportunities for applying machine learning algorithms.
  • Research: Conduct in-depth research to validate project feasibility and evaluate the viability of innovative ideas and technologies.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze internal and external data, uncovering actionable insights that drive customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Model Development: Design and develop machine learning models for diverse use cases, including but not limited to customer segmentation, recommendation systems, churn prediction, and price optimization.
  • Productionalization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solutionize, deploy, and integrate ML features into our central platform.
  • Optimization: Continuously enhance existing capabilities through monitoring, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and incorporate novel techniques into ongoing projects.

  • Develop next-generation data-driven features powered by cutting-edge machine learning algorithms in the field of loyalty.

  • Help partners grow by enhancing customer loyalty through personalized experiences and targeted strategies.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years in designing and building data-driven solutions with a track record of delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong foundations in Statistics and Data Science.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL with familiarity with data wrangling and modelling libraries (e.g., pandas, Polars, Matplotlib, statsmodels, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost).
  • Familiar with deploying scalable models using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Accomplished problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and strategically.
  • Astute business acumen to align data solutions with organizational goals.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to clearly convey ideas, foster collaboration across teams, and engage stakeholders in meaningful discussions.
  • Meticulous, proactive and curious mindset, constantly seeking opportunities to innovate and add value.
