* Setting standards and implementing quality assurance processes
- Work with HPH staff and managers to set and continually review service standards that align with MOH regulatory, WHO Hospital Care for Mothers and newborns: Quality Assessment and Improvement Tool and JCI standards.
- Implement audit systems that compare performance to a set of defined standards
- Implement robust systems to gather, analyse and act on feedback from service users
- Work closely with team to involve patient and their family in the quality assurance processes
- Investigate appropriate ways of incorporating external control into the quality assurance framework and implement this in collaboration with staff
* Analysing performance, recommending improvements and monitoring implementation
- The maximum achievable result for every patient, the prevention of physician-induced complications and expert attention to the patient and the family in a manner that is cost effective and well documented.
- Provide useful analysis of information and data on performance against quality standards and cost effectiveness
- Identify and raise risks and issues related to performance
- Work with staff and managers to celebrate successes and to recommend improvements that focus on improving outcomes for the service users
- Identify relevant quality-related training needs and work with the learning and development team to meet these training needs
- Evaluation is especially important to detect and rectify - as early as possible - any negative result of the introduction of new measures to cut down costs.
- Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in hospital to ensure quality care to patients
- Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing hospital policies and procedures, and interviews hospital personnel and patients to evaluate effectiveness of quality assurance program.
- Write reports and deliver presentations on the quality performance of HP hospital.
* Appraisal, Education and Continuing Professional Development
- Participate in own appraisal annually, with regular review, agreeing a personal development plan in consultation with the Quality Assurance Adviser.
- Provide or facilitate orientation programs for all new employees and contracted staff. Conduct a separate annual educational program to focus awareness of HP hospital quality assurance matrix and current programme with activities.
- Provide other in-service and training programs to identify through the ongoing monitoring, tracking and trending of events and/or as requested by a staff member within the organization.
- Delivery information for recognizing that the effectiveness of quality assurance management activities is contingent upon collaboration and integration with the quality/performance improvement activities.
* Other Responsibilities
- Supervise the investigate customer complaints and provide a timely response in accordance with defined procedures.
- Actively participate in formulation of policies, clinical guidelines, operational policy / procedures and the sharing of information.
- Ensure cost effective use of all Quality Assurance staff and resources.
- Setting up of Service Level Agreements with Third parties for Services that are relevant to the accreditation process.
- Manage and review non-conforming events including service recalls, customer complaints and internal non-conforming events.
- In consultation with all staff to lead the development, implementation and review of the Quality Management System
