Role Summary

As a Technical Owner, you’ll take full ownership of the technical side of our product — from system architecture to delivery. You’ll work closely with founders, product teams, and engineers to bring ideas to life in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.

• Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the technical vision and architecture of the product.
• 
  
• Design and build core features from scratch using scalable, modern technologies.
• 
  
• Collaborate with the founding team to shape the product roadmap based on technical feasibility and long-term scalability.
• 
  
• Make key architectural decisions (e.g. monolith vs microservices, cloud provider, database selection, devops pipeline).
• 
  
• Write clean, maintainable code and enforce best practices (code review, testing, CI/CD).
• 
  
• Mentor junior engineers and build a strong engineering culture as the team scales.
• 
  
• Stay hands-on with development (approx. 50–70% coding, 30–50% leading/mentoring).
• 
  
• Communicate tech decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• 5+ years of software development experience, including 1–2 years in a leadership/ownership role.
• 
  
• Experience building early-stage products, ideally from MVP to production scale.
• 
  
• Strong skills in either frontend (React, Vue...) or backend (Node.js, Python, Java...) – ideally both.
• 
  
• Good grasp of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar), CI/CD, databases, and system design.
• 
  
• Ability to prioritize speed vs scalability, depending on stage of product.
• 
  
• Comfortable working with ambiguity, limited specs, and tight deadlines.
• 
  
• Excellent communication skills – can align tech with business.

Bonus Points

• Experience in a founding tech team or CTO track.

• Experience with analytics, A/B testing, feature flagging, etc.
• 
  
• Familiarity with lean methodology, or agile delivery.
• 
  
• Interest in building developer culture and hiring early team members.
