Country Director - Japan Market

OBJECTIVE  

Japan is now one of Savvycom’s most strategic markets. With increasing demand for high-quality, cost-efficient IT services and strong cultural and business ties between Vietnam and Japan, we are committed to expanding our footprint and elevating our presence in this market. To spearhead this mission, we are seeking a bold and visionary Country Director – a true captain to chart the course and steer Savvycom toward lasting success in Japan. 

The mission of the Country Director is to build and execute a go-to-market strategy tailored for Japan, identifying growth opportunities, securing high-value partnerships, and adapting Savvycom’s service offerings to meet local demands. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, culturally fluent, and passionate about bridging business and technology to deliver exceptional client value. With a sharp focus on positioning Savvycom as a leading IT solution provider in Japan, this role is instrumental in turning market potential into tangible success. 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

1.Revenue Growth & Market Dominance 

• Drive the company’s expansion in Japan by leveraging market knowledge, business acumen, and a strong local network. 
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and new service opportunities in ITO, digital transformation, and consulting. 
• Design and implement business growth strategies aligned with global objectives. 
• Promote the company as a trusted technology partner via local branding, marketing campaigns, and industry events. 

2.Strategic Collaboration & Offshore Management 

• Ensure strategic alignment and seamless collaboration between the Japan office and HQ in Vietnam. 
• Communicate local market dynamics to HQ and ensure service delivery matches client expectations. 
• Coordinate with offshore development and consulting teams to ensure project quality and timelines. 

3.Workforce Development & Performance Leadership 

• Recruit, develop, and lead a cross-functional local team (Sales, Account Management, Technical, PMO). 
• Define KPIs, set clear goals, and implement performance management frameworks. 
• Promote a collaborative, performance-driven, and culturally aware work environment. 

4.Financial & Operational Management 

• Set up and manage local financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. 
• Monitor revenue, cost structures, and profitability, ensuring targets are met. 
• Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance in the Japanese market. 

JOB REQUIREMENT 

•  Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field. MBA is a plus. 
• 10+ years of experience in IT/software development or digital consulting, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role in Japan. 
• Proven ability to build business and operations from scratch in Japan or a similar mature market. 
• Deep understanding of the Japanese technology ecosystem, business culture, and regulatory frameworks. 
• Native-level Japanese and strong English communication skills (verbal & written). 
• Strong leadership, strategy, and execution skills in cross-cultural environments.
