Position Overview

VJU invites applications for the position of Full-time Lecturer in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in Vietnam or who have experience working at universities in developing countries.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a field relevant to the job position.
• Candidates holding a Master’s degree must commit to obtaining a Ph.D. within four years from the date of recruitment.

Research Capability

• Experience as the Principal Investigator or a member of a research project at the grassroots or higher level, and/or
• Being the main author or co-author of two publications (or one publication if the candidate holds a Master’s degree) in specialized journals listed in the WoS/Scopus database or equivalent.
• If the candidate has not yet published, they must commit to publishing at least one article in a specialized journal listed in the WoS/Scopus database or equivalent before the expiration of the first contract.

Other Requirements

• Professional title certification appropriate for the university lecturer position.
• Under 35 years of age for candidates with a Master’s degree.
• Ability to apply Information Technology in teaching and research.
• Proficiency in English for teaching and scientific research.

Tasks and Performance Targets

1. Teaching Requirements

• Research-oriented lecturers (Ph.D. holders): 270 standard hours/year (at least 50% taught directly in class or online).
• Teaching-oriented lecturers (Master’s degree or higher): 330 standard hours/year (at least 50% taught directly in class or online).

2. Research Requirements

• Research-oriented lecturers: Equivalent to 1,000 working hours/year.
• Must publish at least one article in the WoS/Scopus database or a prestigious international journal in computer science and engineering per year.
• Teaching-oriented lecturers: Equivalent to 600 working hours/year.
• Must publish at least one article in a domestic scientific journal on the scoring list of the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors per year.

3. Academic Advising (Mandatory)8 office hours/week.

Additional Responsibilities (Encouraged)

1. Conduct training activities.
2. Publish additional scientific publications.
3. Attract funding for research.
4. Develop research teams.
5. Attract talented students.
6. Take on management, party, and union work, and coordinate training programs (with reduced standard teaching hours as per internal regulations).

Recruitment Process

The review of applications will continue until the position is filled. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by an Evaluation Committee appointed by the Rector. Successful candidates will be offered a two-year contract, with the possibility of tenure-track or contract extension based on performance.
