Các từ thay thế cho But

1. But

Đầu tiên, trước khi đi tìm hiểu các từ thay thế cho BUT trong IELTS Writing, bạn cần hiểu rõ về ý nghĩa cũng như cách dung của từ BUT trong tiếng Anh. BUT là liên từ, có nghĩa là “nhưng, nhưng mà”, dùng để chỉ sự đối lập giữa 2 mệnh đề trong một câu. BUT đứng giữa câu và được ngăn cách bởi dấu phẩy. Bạn có thể tham khảo ngay ví dụ dưới đây để hiểu rõ về cách sử dụng từ này: 

• You can invite Lily to the party, but please don't ask that friend of her.
• Everyone in the room complains that she smells awful, but nobody dares mention it to her.

2. Although

Từ đầu tiên thay thế cho BUT trong bài viết này prepedu.com muốn giới thiệu đến bạn chính là Although. Sau đây là một số cách dùng Although trong tiếng Anh: 

• Although thường đứng ở đầu câu hoặc giữa 2 mệnh đề trong câu. Để thay thế cho BUT, bạn nên sử dụng Athough ở giữa câu, bởi nó hai vế câu sẽ nhấn mạnh hơn sự tương phản về mặt ý nghĩa của câu.
• Bạn có thể tham khảo cấu trúc: S + V although S + V.

Ví dụ: 

• I failed the test although I studied hard.
• My best friend is rather shy, although she is not as bad as she used to be.

3. However

However là một trong các từ thay thế cho BUT trong tiếng Anh tiếp theo bạn nên nằm lòng. Sử dụng However như nào cho chính xác nhất, hãy cùng tham khảo thông tin bên dưới cùng PREP bạn nhé!

• However mang nghĩa tuy nhiên, được sử dụng để chỉ sự tương phản, đối lập giữa 2 mệnh đề trong cùng 1 câu.
• However được tách ra bởi một dấu phẩy với mệnh đề nếu từ này đứng ở đầu câu hay cuối câu và However sẽ nằm giữa 2 dấu phẩy nếu nằm ở giữa 2 mệnh đề trong 1 câu.

Để hiểu hơn về từ However, bạn có thể tham khảo ví dụ sau đây: 

• My brother ran so fast. He missed the bus, however.
• We played well, however, we still lost the match.

4. And yet

Cụm từ thay thế cho BUT tiếp theo bạn nên tham khảo đó là And yet. Giờ đây, thay vì dùng BUT, bạn có thể sử dụng And yet trong bài thi IELTS Writing để nâng cao band điểm tiêu chí Lexical Resource. Ví dụ về And yet: 

• He got 7 cats, 5 dogs, and a rabbit, and yet my grandfather wants more pets.

5. Even so

Even so - cụm từ thay thế cho BUT bạn có thể dùng trong giao tiếp hàng ngày cũng như trong IELTS Writing. Ví dụ về cụm từ even so:

•  The phone system has improved, but even so, there are still very few houses with phones.

6. Nevertheless

Từ thay thế cho BUT trong tiếng Anh nói chung và trong IELTS Writing nói riêng bạn có thể tham khảo đó chính là Nevertheless. Dùng nevertheless như thế nào, hãy cùng tham khảo ví dụ được đề cập sau đây:

•  This team hadn’t lost a match the entire season. Nevertheless, my favorite team beat them by a huge margin last night.

7. Nonetheless

Nonetheless - từ vựng thay thế cho BUT trong tiếng Anh. Để hiểu rõ hơn về ý nghĩa và cách sử dụng từ vựng này, bạn có thể tham khảo ví dụ sau đây nhé:

• Nonetheless, the area still plays an important role in the economy of my country.

8. Despite

Despite - một trong những từ thay thế cho BUT trong tiếng Anh bạn có thể tham khảo để áp dụng vào trong quá trình ôn luyện thi IELTS hiệu quả. Ví dụ cụ thể:

• My mother still enjoyed the week despite the weather.

9. But having said that
