The Role

The Southeast Asia Investment Deal Teams initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September 2023 as part of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia’s two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.

Comprising Staff From Austrade, DFAT, And Export Finance Australia (EFA), Investment Deal Teams Will Help Increase Investment In Southeast Asia From Australian Corporate And Institutional Investors. As Part Of The Program Austrade Will

• Adopt a key account management approach to working with a portfolio of Australian corporate and institutional investors interested in Southeast Asia;
• Deliver outbound investment missions to Southeast Asia to increase investor understanding and develop networks;
• Work with Southeast Asian counterparts to identify investment opportunities of interest to Australian investors; and
• Provide market intelligence to investors (by way of market guides and briefings).
  
  

Duties include

As a Senior Investment Director, you will be responsible for:

• Working as part of a whole-of-government team (including DFAT and EFA) to implement the work of the Deal Team.
• Developing deep relationships with national and sub-national investment authorities, state-owned-enterprises, conglomerates, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and corporate investors.
• Identifying potential investment opportunities and working with Deal Team staff in Australia to qualify opportunities.
• Supporting investor missions and visits to engage with project proponents and potential partners on investment opportunities.
• Delivering market insights to support the development of market guides that can be used to help Australian corporate and institutional investors better understand the markets.
• Providing advice, connections and support as required to facilitate Australian corporate and institutional investment into projects in Southeast Asia.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:

• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in the Vietnam, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in the Vietn am at the time of appointment.
• Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English.
• Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the
  
  

role.
