Position Overview:
The Director of Back Office will be a key leader in our Philippines operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of local Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), and Administrative (Admin) functions. This role requires close collaboration with both the local teams and vertical line departments at the Head Office in Vietnam. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, a strong communicator, and a strategic thinker with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
The selected candidate will initially be based at our Head Office in Hanoi, Vietnam, for approximately six months of training and onboarding before transitioning to the onsite role in Manila, Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the local HR, IT, and Admin teams to support business operations effectively.
- Establish and implement policies and procedures in alignment with company standards.
Human Resources (HR):
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR strategies to attract and retain top talent.
Information Technology (IT):
- Supervise the IT team to ensure the deployment and maintenance of technology systems that meet business needs.
- Collaborate with the Head Office IT team to align local IT infrastructure with global standards.
Administrative (Admin) Operations:
- Oversee office management, facilities, and administrative processes to ensure efficiency.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships for back-office operations.
Collaboration with Head Office:
- Act as the primary liaison between the local back-office teams and the vertical line departments at the Head Office in Vietnam.
- Ensure alignment of local operations with company-wide goals and strategies.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of the company’s expansion into the Philippines.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in back-office operations, including HR, IT, and Admin management.
- Proven leadership experience in a multinational or cross-cultural environment.
- Strong understanding of Philippine labor laws and business practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with remote teams and Head Office counterparts.
- Proficiency in English and Filipino; knowledge of Vietnamese is a plus.
