Algorithmics - The International Coding School - teaches programming to students from 5 to 17 years old. At Algorithmics, students will be taught how to command technology and develop essential soft skills of the 21st Century - empowering them to have their choice of professions-of-the-future.

Responsibilities

Programming Teacher

• Teach in accordance with Algorithmics curriculum requirements; using our online platform to deliver a pre-designed interactive curriculum to children ages 5 - 17 years old.
• Adapt learning activities to mix ability levels in the group they are responsible for while keeping track with learning outcomes.
• Liaise with academic staff to understand student learning progress, foresee learning needs and problem solve.
• Assist academic staff with parent relations, delivering Progress Update sessions and Graduation sessions for their group.
• Collaborate with academic management to support curriculum development and academic materials.
• Collaborate with staff to track student progress via Algorithmics LMS and class progress report (CPR). Identifying student achievements and points of improvement to provide written constructive feedback to students, parents, and staff at the end of each module.
• Teaching Catch-up lessons for students who need support due to absence.
• Participate in scheduled educational events throughout the academic year for professional development.
• Conduct trial lessons of students.
• Complete training and certification for each course relevant to the teacher.
• Participate in training and professional development

Programming Tutor

• Deliver Trial/ Introductory Lessons for a minimum of 3 courses 
• Tutor small group classes certified to teach
• Communicate student updates to teachers and Care Team
• Providing technical support for parents and students 
• Lesson material preparation and classroom preparation oversight 
• Supporting students with activities and homework via our platform and online Academic Success Channel on Discord
• Correcting student's work
• Within assigned classes, work closely with the teacher to understand student progress
• Assisting in classroom management and lesson delivery
• Translate where necessary for students with low English
• Tracking student attendance and calling parents to confirm student absences
• Communicating about student catch-up needs and deliver catch-up classes after course certification 
• Maintain clean and beautiful presentation of the classroom
• Assist in the overall smooth operation of the center under line management.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
• Language: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no certification required)
• Programming Languages: Python, C#, JavaScript
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience: For teacher: at least 6 months experience of classroom support in a center or K12 school. For tutor: nice to have experience in teaching for kids.
• Additional Qualifications: Passion for technology; a background in Computer Science is a plus
