Strategic Financial Planning and Oversight: The Financial Systems Expert oversees the financial status of various units, including both domestic and international collaborations. The role involves strategic planning, budgeting, and assessment, including the forecasting of revenues and expenses based on past, present, and anticipated operations.
System Design and Integration: Responsible for the acquisition, development, and integration of financial systems, ensuring they meet the operational needs of the university. This includes leading the implementation of new technologies and system enhancements to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Financial Policy Development and Compliance: Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of university accounting policies and financial procedures. The expert ensures compliance with both internal policies and external regulations affecting financial disclosures, managing financial data accuracy, and reconciling budget discrepancies
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Manages the comprehensive analysis of financial operations, trends, and obligations. This duty includes the preparation of detailed financial reports for both internal decision-making and external stakeholders, emphasizing accountability and transparency
International Financial Management: Coordinates financial operations with international partners, including managing foreign currency exchanges, international payroll, and tax compliance. This also involves liaising with foreign institutions to facilitate invoicing, payments, and compliance with international financial standards.
Training and Development: Leads the development and delivery of training programs to enhance staff proficiency in financial systems and processes. The expert provides ongoing support and documentation to ensure staff are well-equipped to execute their financial responsibilities effectively
Security and Data Integrity: Maintains rigorous security protocols to safeguard financial information, overseeing the appropriate use of financial and tax software databases. The role includes monitoring compliance with security policies and regulations governing the handling of sensitive financial data
Committee Participation and Policy Advisory: Actively participates in university committees to influence financial strategies and policies. The expert contributes to broad policy development affecting financial services, aligning departmental goals with university-wide objectives
Cultural and Interpersonal Engagement: Promotes a workplace culture that values diversity, encouraging respect and skill development for effective interaction across different cultural backgrounds. The expert models and supports inclusive practices within the department.
Professional Development and Continuous Learning: Remains informed on the latest developments in finance and accounting through self-directed learning, professional courses, and networking with industry colleagues. This ensures the expert maintains cutting-edge knowledge and skills.
General Administrative Support and Leadership: Provides general oversight and leadership in financial management practices, supporting various university initiatives and projects. This includes contributing to special projects and performing additional duties as required to support the department’s success

Yêu cầu công việc

A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field is required
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience in providing reporting and systems support, at least two years of this experience should be directly related to accounting or financial analysis.
Experience in project management and business process analysis is essential
Applicants should have a strong background in using query and reporting tools, database systems, spreadsheet applications, word processing applications, and payment web page design software
Additional experience with international accounting, managing budgets, and working with grant finances is highly desirable
Applicants must demonstrate a thorough understanding of basic accounting concepts and reporting requirements
The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, reason analytically, and interact effectively with individuals at all administrative levels
Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese
