Adecco's client, a leading technology group providing IT solution and digital transformation services is looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will play a critical role in developing, preserving, and improving a range of operational and analytical services and infrastructure that are essential to the running of the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Data Infrastructure Design and Maintenance: Data Lakes, databases, data pipelines, and metadata repositories are just a few examples of the analytical and operational services and infrastructure that need to be designed, maintained, and improved in order to guarantee the precise and timely supply of actionable insights.
- Cooperation: Design and build data schemas and models in close coordination with data science teams; integrate new data sources with product teams; and work in tandem with other data engineers to develop state-of-the-art data space technologies.
- Data processing: To support the organization's development and improvement efforts, develop and optimize large-scale batch and real-time data processing systems.
- Workflow Management: To guarantee effective data processing and management, make use of workflow scheduling and monitoring solutions such as AWS Batch and Apache Airflow.
- Quality Assurance: To guarantee the dependability and usefulness of data processing systems, put strong testing techniques into place.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep up with new developments in data engineering and emerging technologies. Also, suggest and put into practice improvements that will increase the productivity of development.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
- Technical expertise: Well-versed in distributed and cloud computing, Unix environments, Python frameworks (like pandas and pyspark), version control systems (like git), and tools for workflow scheduling (like Apache Airflow).
- Database proficiency: familiarity with big data and columnar databases, such as Hadoop/Hive, Athena, Redshift, and Vertica.
- Cloud Services: Knowledge of AWS or other cloud services, such as Glue, EMR, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.
- Containerization: Working knowledge of tools such as Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes for container management and orchestration.
- CI/CD: Familiarity with tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
