We are looking for a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Laird Vietnam in Bac Ninh. In this position, you will be responsible for developing innovative product designs specifically for metal stamping applications. Your role will involve collaborating closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure that designs meet functional specifications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop product designs for metal stamping.
• Communicate with customers to consult about product requirements and design the product to be suitable for its intended function.
• Work collaboratively with appropriate departments/teams to develop product designs and tooling, and to source the best materials for new designs.
• Coordinate with other sites' engineering and related cross-functional teams to enhance product design capabilities.
• Execute verification for designs in accordance with customer requirement evaluation standards (e.g., simulation, function tests).
• Conduct trials for products to verify product designs and confirm that production processes and equipment are suitable for the designs.
• Promote continuous improvement of designs to increase quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Interface with outside vendors to determine design specifications; coordinate the purchase of equipment, materials, and/or parts; and evaluate products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Scope and evaluate products for compatibility with automation equipment.
• Understand and implement Lean Manufacturing principles, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S techniques.
• Comply with required regulatory agencies, including the FDA, CDA, and CFDA.
  
  
  

Education & Experience

Required:

• Education Background: Graduated from university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Degrees in Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical Engineering will also be considered.
• Required Work Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an FDI manufacturing company.
• Strong knowledge of metal stamping product design is required.
• Proficient in 2D/3D design software, such as SolidWorks or other CAD applications.
• Knowledgeable in mechanical design, machining (with a preference for stamping), tooling and die equipment, and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in English Communication: Good oral and written communication skills in English.
