Position: Vendor Management Manager – Consumer Electronics

Location: Hanoi, Vietnam

Education: University graduate engineer in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/ Control System Engineering. Post Graduation - MBA

Experience: 8-12 years

Reports to: Operations Head - Consumer Electronics Business

Segment experience of Preferred Candidates:

• Consumer Electronics automation systems.
• Consumer electronics assembling machines and Conveyor

Industry: Automation, Capital project working or working with customers and Consumer Electronics automation / machine tool suppliers.

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for driving overall vendor management for the Consumer Electronics Business. This involves identifying, developing, building capacity and capability in vendors across geography for ensuring part deliveries considering all aspects of cost, quality and timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a global supplier base for parts needed in Consumer Electronics assembly machines.
• Implement forecasting, planning, and inventory mechanisms aligned with AOP and production schedules.
• Ensure timely procurement through developed vendors at right price as per technical specifications.
• Identify, evaluate, and establish sustainable suppliers for the manufacturing of components across India, Vietnam, Thailand, and China etc.
• Anticipate future trends, change in laws, budget, geopolitical changes to ensure supply chain stability.
• Ensure compliance with customs, foreign trade regulations, duties, taxes applicability, and import logistics related modes and processes in India.
• Establish and Implement processes for strategic techno commercial aspects of negotiations & savings with unique negotiation practices.
• Set up a mechanism for regularly reviews of team’s performance to drive outcomes timely as per delivery schedules. Guide the team by taking timely swift decisions even when faced with ambiguity.
• Maintain proactive, consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Create and Implement mistake-proofing mechanisms and enforce adherence to departmental SOPs and guidelines.
• Build and sustain Wipro PARI's brand image among vendors globally.
• Strengthen interdepartmental and cross-functional communication within Consumer Electronics teams.
• Leverage relationships within Wipro PARI and the broader Wipro ecosystem for success.

Desired Profile:

• BE with 8-12 years of experience, including 5- 7 years with relevant experience of working in Consumer Electronics or allied industries having element of high-speed automation industries like Semi-conductors, FMCG automation, Medical equipment automation, Tier-1 precision component supplier for automative etc.
• Expertise in vendor development, procurement with 5-7 years' work experience and knowledge of machine hour rates for different processes used in prismatic components manufacturing in Consumer Electronics across multiple geographies.

Additional Knowledge:

• Exposure to component manufacturing in the electronics industry (e.g., mobile phones, laptops / electronic accessories and gadgets).
• Knowledge of bought-out components (Domestic & International) and supply chains for electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CNC processes, wire cutting, EDM, and surface treatments for low-volume manufacturing.
• Understanding of material grades and treatments in electronics manufacturing.
