About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, exceptional leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Review and analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting process for the company, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, provide variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing any issues and ensuring timely completion.
  • Manage the company’s cash flow, forecasting cash requirements and ensuring that the organization has sufficient liquidity to meet its operational and strategic needs.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring efficient cash management practices.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic advice to senior management regarding profitability, cost management, and investment opportunities.
  • Assist in long-term financial planning and the development of strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Optimize the use of financial software and tools, ensuring that systems are integrated and functioning effectively to streamline financial processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency of the finance department.


Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CA (Chartered Accountant) highly desirable.


Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Experience managing audits and preparing financial reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in cash flow management, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial processes.
