Key Functions:
- Create, and implement strategies and systems to support the efficient, safe and
effective delivery of field programmes defined by current environment
- Participate in achieving annual desired outcomes for training development, field
operations and report progress of staff development
- Provides systemic planning and leadership for field programs and staff training
before, during and after training programmes
- Cross collaborate with other teams on projects related to organizational priorities
- Spearhead Training and Development of new staff and continuous training
A. Health & Safety
- Support field program staff adherence to charter operating procedures, national
and local safety policies and emergency procedures
- Support Safety Team in implementing procedures, systems and reporting to ensure
the overall safety and course quality of field programming
- Participate in emergency on-call system for field programmes, when necessary
- Participate in critical incident response systems
- Assist in internal Safety Reviews & Audits
- Creates operational plans to be approved for safe conduct of Instructor trainings
- Manage staff, volunteers, interns and visitors to OBV in accordance with relevant risk
management, health and safety legislation and standards; and all relevant OBV risk
management, health and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain current knowledge of Vietnamese and International standards applying to
safety and quality in Outdoor Education/Activities
- Assist Head Operations to manage Workplace, Health & Safety (WH&S) matters
B. Staff Development and Supervision
- Lead and supervise professional development of Staff through:
o Mentoring, observing, coaching, and goal setting
o Conduct training performance reviews
- Ensure OBV operational staff have the required competencies to operate safe and
quality outdoor education programmes
- Designing and conducting staff training programmes that will boost employee’s
workplace performance aligned with the company’s core values
- Responsible for recruiting and selecting trainee instructors, performing training needs
assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for
managing all phases of OBV training programs, including overseeing the instructor
authorization process
- Keep abreast knowledge of external standards applying to training, safety, and quality
in Outdoor Education / Activities
- Build annual training program and prepare teaching plans that include handouts,
instructional materials, aids, and learning resources
- Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results
- Responsible for oversight of all training programme delivery requirements which
includes management, mentoring and coaching staff members which would include
responsibility for goal setting and performance reviews, managing rosters,
coordinating training, compiling reports and training & incident field data
C. Fiscal Management
- Plan and manage training development budgets for staff training and development
