Role Description

The Job holder is responsible for administering, maintaining and monitoring server applications.

• Management, operation and maintenance of all staging and production systems.
• Effectively manage and execute tasks and projects as necessary.
• Deploy, automate, maintain and manage Production system, to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of production systems.
• Build and maintain tools, solutions and microservices associated with deployment and operations platform, ensuring that all meet SP’ customer service standards and reduce errors.
• Specifying, documenting and developing new product features, and writing automating scripts.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
• Work with open-source technologies as needed. Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and Bitbucket.
• System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.
• Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
• Able to work in shifts and be on standby at off-hours

Qualifications

• 5-7+ year experience working as DevOps
• Experience in supporting applications and transactions monitoring, providing support to Ops and Business, adjusting system settings for changes.
• Should have deep technical skills and experience in several of the following domains: Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, Sonar, Docker container, Pipeline, Kubernetes + GCP…
• Strong use of Shell scripting languages including BASH for Linux.
• Expert Linux system
• Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Staging/Production environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
• Available to work in shifts from 6AM to 2PM, 4PM to 12PM
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios. Grafana, Check MK).
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure
• DB Skills: Experience in setting up and maintaining databases like MySQL, MongoDB (Elastic Search or other NoSQL is a plus)
• Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services: DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP.
