What you'll do:
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the execution and delivery of engineering goals by collaborating with various cross-functional teams. You will be integral in shaping the overall architecture and key components design for both current and future frameworks. Your role will involve coaching engineers to become versatile professionals who can take on responsibilities outside their core discipline. You will also own the remediation of technical debt, empowering your team to be self-sufficient and disciplined. A significant part of your role will involve executing and updating career path developments for engineering team members.
- Guide and mentor Agile teams to meet engineering standards, manage sprint backlogs, oversee engineers' roles, assess performance, ensure code quality, and enforce development protocols and testing practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, and product managers to drive execution and meet engineering objectives.
- Shape and execute the technology roadmap.
- Contribute to the overall architectural design and key framework components for both current and future systems.
- Balance the need for speed and quality in development.
- Train engineers to develop versatile, cross-disciplinary skills and assume responsibilities beyond their primary roles.
- Manage and resolve technical debt.
- Stay updated on modern development technologies and practices.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle and team deliverables.
- Foster self-sufficiency and discipline within the product engineering team.
- Lead initiatives to enhance development and delivery processes.
- Inspire the team to strive for continuous delivery and innovation.
- Collaborate with HR to establish and refine career development paths for team members.
- Play critical role into retaining and growing the team, expanding the portfolio.
What you'll bring:
The ideal candidate for this Engineering Manager position brings a wealth of experience in software development and leadership. With over 10 years in Software Development and at least 4 years leading an engineering team at a product company, you are well-versed in implementing software engineering methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and SDLC. You have deep understanding in AWS and have proven experience in developing Your strong people leadership skills enable you to build effective teams that are motivated to exceed expectations. You have proven experience working with multiple stakeholders across different countries, demonstrating your ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
- Minimum 10+ years of working experience in Software Development; 4+ years of experience leading an engineering organization at a product company
- Experience with Microservices - REST API; Databases - MySQL, MongoDB
- Deep understanding in AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CLI, ECS, EKS…).
- Proven experience with implementing software engineering as Agile, Scrum, and SDLC.
- Expertise in software quality, DevOps, and microservices
- Proven ability to design and implement new product lines end-to-end.
- Strong people leadership, team building, motivation, and coaching skills
- Strong stakeholder management in distributed, multi-regional teams.
- Leadership roles in international finance or tech companies are a plus.
- Experienced in banking or financial services companies is an advantage.
