Describe a character from a film | Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2, 3
Describe a character from a film. You should say:
What character it is
Who acted the character
When you saw the film
And explain whether you like this character.
Today, I’m going to talk about the character of Tony Stark from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Robert Downey Junior. As I remember, I first saw Tony Stark in the 2008 film Iron Man, and I’ve been a fan of his ever since.
In this movie, Tony Stark is a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist. He’s also a self-made man who is incredibly intelligent and has a knack for inventing and engineering. On top of that, he’s a bit of a showman, often using his wealth and charisma to get what he wants. Inside his world, Tony is known as a rebel, often going against the grain and doing things his own way.
Actually, Tony Stark is a complex character. He’s often seen as a hero, but he also has a dark side. He’s often reckless, impulsive, and even selfish at times. To some characters, he comes across as a loner, who often pushes those who care about him away. Despite his flaws, Tony Stark is a character that I find very interesting.
To tell the truth, I love Tony Stark because he’s a complicated and imperfect character who is still trying to do the right thing. He’s a character that is constantly evolving and growing, and I think that is something that we can all relate to.

Definitely! It’s a creative and dynamic profession that allows you to explore different characters and stories. You get to work with a variety of people, from directors to other actors, and you get to travel to various locations. It can also be very rewarding, as you get to see the impact your work has on audiences, but at the same time, it can be a challenging profession. You need to be able to memorize lines, stay in character, and take direction from directors. Therefore, being an actor or actress can be a really stimulating experience, but it requires a lot of hard work and dedication.
Becoming an actor or actress is exciting, but it is also really difficult. It's not enough to memorize lines and look good on camera; you must truly immerse yourself in the role and bring their feelings and experiences to life. It's a lot of effort, but it can also be quite rewarding when you see the completed product and realize you were a part of something unique.
In my viewpoint, acting can be a great learning experience for children, as it can help them develop important skills such as communication, collaboration, and creativity. Acting can also enable children to build confidence and self-esteem since children get to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment. Finally, acting can help children develop their public speaking skills, as they learn to project their voice and use body language to convey their message. All of these skills can be invaluable for children as they grow and develop.
Acting can teach children many valuable skills, such as creativity, teamwork, communication, and self-expression. It also helps them build confidence, empathy, and an understanding of different perspectives. By pretending to be someone else, children can learn to put themselves in other people's shoes and see the world from a new angle.
For me, children are fond of wearing special costumes because they provide a sense of fun and excitement. This clothing can be used to express creativity and imagination, allowing children to explore different characters and dress up as their favorite heroes. Additionally, costumes can be used to foster social interaction, as children can play together while wearing matching outfits. Furthermore, wearing costumes may promote their self-esteem, as children can feel empowered and confident when engaging in pretend play and physical activities.
Children enjoy special costumes because they may use their imaginations to become their favorite characters. It is a type of play that promotes them in developing social skills and creativity. Also, dressing up may be a lot of fun and make children feel special and unique.
In fact, the disparities can be quite substantial. Firstly, those who earn much tend to have more experience and a higher level of expertise in their craft. They have likely been in the industry for a longer period of time and, as a result, have built up a reputation for their work. Additionally, they may have a larger network of contacts and access to more lucrative roles.
On the other hand, those who earn less may be relatively new to the industry and lack the hands-on experience and connections to those who have been in this business. This lack of visibility definitely works against their opportunities.
Fame and recognition are likely the primary distinctions. Actors with bigger fan bases earn more. They may also have more experience in the industry and stronger managers or advisors who can negotiate better terms for them. What is more, success in the entertainment sector often depends on luck and timing.
Well, these are two very different experiences. In theatre, the actor is performing live in front of an audience, so they must be able to project their voice and presence to the back of the theatre. They also have to adjust their performance to the energy of the audience, as well as to the other actors on stage. In contrast, when acting in a film, the actor is performing for a camera so they can convey emotion and nuance more subtly.
In addition, the actor needs to work well with the other actors in the scene to create a cohesive performance. So, theatre requires a more dynamic performance, while film requires a more tactful approach.
In theatre, your voice and motions must be projected to reach the entire audience, however in movies, you can be more subtle and natural. Because theatre involves a live audience, each performance is unique, whereas film allows for several takes and editing. Overall, both have their advantages and disadvantages, and it all comes down to personal preference and skill set.
Ex: The decor of the room was subtle and natural, with earthy tones and organic textures creating a calming and welcoming atmosphere.
comes down to personal preference and skill set: phụ thuộc và sở trường và kĩ năng của từng cá nhân.
