Yes, I did. I attended a great school that had a lot of resources and opportunities for students. All my teachers were very knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, and they were always willing to help us out. My school also had a lot of extracurricular activities and clubs that allowed us to explore our interests, develop our skills, and encourage community involvement of the students. I’m very grateful for such a well-rounded education I received there and the experiences I had.

I am currently a Senior at Hanoi University and my major is French. I’ve always been a language geek since middle school and you know, besides English, I’ve really wanted to learn another tongue, so that’s why I chose French. And, although French bears many similarities with English, something that I’ve been used to for years, it is still very challenging to master.

Và bên cạnh tiếng Anh, mình luôn muốn học một ngoại ngữ khác, đó là lí do mình chọn ngành tiếng Pháp. Và mặc dù tiếng Pháp có rất nhiều điểm tương đồng với tiếng Anh, thứ mà mình đã quen thuộc nhiều năm rồi, tiếng Pháp vẫn rất khó để thực sự chinh phục.
Well, candidly speaking, I’m not very certain about my future plans post-graduation, but one thing I know for sure is that I’ll be working in the language field. Maybe I’ll become a translator or an interpreter, or even a language teacher, I don’t know. But another scenario I had in mind is that I will pursue higher education to become a linguistic specialist and try to build a career in this line of work, where I find well-qualified professionals are undoubtedly called for. Nevertheless, I will try to optimize the knowledge I acquired during my university time to find a decent job.
(Thật lòng mà nói thì mình cũng không chắc lắm về dự định tương lai hậu ra trường, nhưng có một điều mình biết chắc là mình sẽ làm việc trong ngành Ngôn ngữ. Có thể mình sẽ làm biên dịch viên, hoặc phiên dịch viên, hoặc giáo viên ngoại ngữ, chưa biết nữa. Nhưng một kịch bản khác mình có là việc sẽ học lên cao hơn để trở thành một chuyên gia trong ngành nghiên cứu ngôn ngữ và gây dựng sự nghiệp trong ngành này, một ngành mình thấy cực kì cần đến những chuyên gia có bằng cấp tiến bộ. Dù sao đi nữa thì mình cũng sẽ cố tận dụng tối đa những kiến thức học được ở đại học để tìm một việc làm tốt.)
Oh yes there is, in fact, pursuing extra educational certifications is no stranger to soon-to-be graduates like me, as you know, the job market is becoming intensely competitive. Everybody wants a highly-paid job and sometimes only the university graduation certificate is not enough. And personally, I find this trend very inspiring and has more pros than cons because it elevates the average abilities of graduates and at the same time the quality of the job market in general.
