Your role includes.

• Being a trusted advisor,guidingour customers towards a successful technical solution to theirdatachallenges.


• Communicatingthe what, why and how of proposed solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Understanding the big data world whilst developing,testing,and monitoringdistributed data processing pipelines.


• Extrapolatingversatile data sets and sourcesto produce high quality,reproducible datasetsin a scalable and maintainable way.


• Collaboratingwith different data roles such as Architects,Software Engineersand Data Scientists with ease.


• Understandingtheneeds ofmultiple types ofproducers andconsumersfor our data services,ensuringour products meet their requirements.


• Delivering projects in an Agile way, buildingiterativelyto produce value from data early and frequently.


• Keepingyourself technically sharp,being open to learningnewconcepts andtechnologies.


• Workingcollaboratively with colleagues and clients, be it onsite, in theZuhlkeoffice, or from home.

We encourageour data engineers to be open to learn new technologyon a project-by-project basis. We are looking for Data Engineers who have asample of the following skills and experience:

• Experience ofdesigning,buildingand maintainingdataproductsthatmeet the needs of data consumers.


• An understanding ofcommon approaches todata analysis, machine learning and data visualisation so you canproduce the right datafor data consumers.


• Experiencewith a variety of approaches to dataarchitectures(e.g.Data Lake, Data Mesh,Data Warehouse,streaming, batch processing)


• Hands-on experience with databasesboth relationalandNoSQL.


• Familiaritywith big data infrastructures and concepts for storing and processing large and/or heterogeneous data volumes.


• Practicalknowledge of handling varied types ofstructured and unstructureddata (text, tabular, graph,time-series, geospatial, image, etc.).


• Workingknowledgeofcontainerisation andpublic and private Cloud environments.


• Knowledgeable about information securityand data governance.


• Excellentand practicaldataprogramming skillswith experience indifferent programming languages likeJava or Python.


• You have experiencedelivering projectstodeadlines, with an emphasis on quality, ideally inclient facing contexts.

You would have the opportunityto work witha variety of technologies and tools, including:

• Programming Languages–Java, Python, SQL.


• Cloud environments–AWS/GCP/Azure


• Big Data Frameworks– Hadoop, Spark, Kafka


• Databases- PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Hive


• Orchestration and Containerisation– Airflow, Docker
