Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Welder to join our team. The Glass Welder will be responsible for precision welding and fabricating glass components used in industrial, scientific, and artistic applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-temperature equipment, possess excellent hand-eye coordination, and have a strong understanding of glass properties and welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Glass Welding and Fabrication:

o Operate torches, burners, and other equipment to weld, fuse, or mold glass materials.

o Shape, repair, or join glass components for use in custom designs, laboratory equipment, or industrial machinery.

2. Blueprint Interpretation:

o Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications to determine the welding process, dimensions, and materials required.

3. Material Handling:

o Handle glass materials safely, ensuring no damage during the welding or fabrication process.

4. Quality Assurance:

o Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards, adjusting techniques as necessary.

5. Equipment Maintenance:

o Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, ensuring tools are in safe working condition.

6. Safety Compliance:

o Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling glass and welding equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

· Proven experience in glass welding or similar role.

· Strong knowledge of glass properties, welding techniques, and tools.

· Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.

· Ability to work with high-temperature equipment safely.

Preferred:

· Certification or formal training in glass welding, glassblowing, or a related field.

· Experience with scientific or industrial glass fabrication.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).

· Comfortable working in environments with high heat and potential exposure to sharp objects.

· Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination for precise welding.
