Job Objectives: Supervises students during study hall period
1. Determines seat assignments. Takes attendance. Upholds study hall rules.
2. Upholds school rules and follows administrative procedures of the school.
3. Promotes a favorable image of SSIS.
4. Maintenance a quiet study environment.
5. Skill in dealing with students.
6. Office and clerical skills preferred.
7. Familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
8. Skill in maintaining records.
9. Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code. Keeps the principal informed about persistent behavior problems.
10. Promotes the proper use and care of school property. Controls student access to lockers, toilet rooms, etc
11. Manages student requests to go to the library, guidance office, meet with teachers, etc. Keep track of the location of each student assigned to the study hall.
12. Ensures that student have books and classroom assignment. Maintains a positive learning environment. Helps student with questions.
13. Provides guidance, communicates high expectations, and shows an active interest in student progress.
14. Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time.
15. Respect personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
16. Takes precautions to ensure staff/ student safety. Does not leave students unsupervised.
17. Watches for student behavior that may indicate a problem (e.g., profanity, teasing, bullying, distress, etc.). Intervenes and/or reports concerns to an administrator.
18. Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.
19. Wears appropriate work attire and maintains a neat appearance.
20. Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
21. Coordinates with the curriculum director in the organization of standardized testing schedules.
22. Conducts some standardized testing within the study hall period.
23. Collaborates with and supports teachers to help support make-up work and examinations are completed during study hall.
24. Communicates important reminders and encourages the development of positive study and life skills in relation to academic success
25. Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
