About The Role

SMG Real Estate (a business unit of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group AG) is running the top 2 leading digital real estate classifieds platforms, which are Homegate and Immoscout24 - Switzerland's largest real estate portals, with more than 15 million visits per month and more than 100,000 listings.

We provide all users looking for a property with a transparent overview of the entire range of listings without them having to tediously visit different platforms. In addition to great products such as the mortgage or price calculator, we also offer editorial articles on topics such as housing and financing.

Join us in this exciting role as a Fullstack Engineer in our Ho Chi Minh City office in District 10. You will be part of SMG Real Estate Engineering, a remote-friendly department of 80+ engineers located in four countries (Switzerland, Serbia, Germany & Vietnam).

Our tech stack

• Our front end is implemented with Vue.js / React.js, with Typescript as the language of choice. It consists of a mix of client-side, server-side, pre-rendered, and hybrid web apps.
• Our backend is written in Node.js and Typescript, following a serverless and microservices architecture in a cloud-based environment using AWS. Our main services leverage Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and S3, among others.
• Our monitoring is done mainly through Datadog and Sentry.
• Our codebase and services are documented using Backstage.
  
  

Job Description

What you will do

• You will be working in a team responsible for core Search, with a great balance of front-end and back-end work.
• Working with AWS cloud technologies, microservices architectures, and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding requirements, designing and implementing new features for the owned services.
• Reviewing code, ensuring high test coverage, and maintaining and monitoring systems.
  
  

Qualifications

Your skills and experiences:

• Strong English communication skills, both speaking and writing;
• Bachelor in CS or related fields or similar;
• 3+ years of software engineering experience;
• JavaScript ES6 / TypeScript knowledge;
• Familiarity with Vue or similar web development frameworks;
• Web development experience (CSS, HTML, JSON);
• Experience in back-end development: REST APIs, databases, node.js;
• Pragmatic and proactive approach to problem-solving;
• AWS experience is a plus.
