Cấu trúc Congratulate là gì?
Trong tiếng Anh, Congratulate là động từ có nghĩa là “chúc mừng”. Các dạng chia động từ của cấu trúc Congratulate như sau:

Ngoài ra, Congratulate đi với giới từ gì? Cấu trúc này thường đi với giới từ “on” và “for” thể hiện những lớp nghĩa khác nhau. Ví dụ:
- Hanna congratulated John on winning the scholarship. (Hanna chúc mừng John vì đã giành được học bổng.)
- Sara bought an expensive laptop to congratulate Peter on his big achievement. (Sara mua chiếc laptop đắt tiền để chúc mừng Peter vì thành tựu to lớn.)
- Anna and John are to be congratulated for their efforts in making the event such a success. (Anna và John được khen ngợi vì những nỗ lực của họ đã làm nên thành công cho sự kiện này.)
- Jessica must be congratulated for doing a very courageous job. (Jessica xứng đáng phải được khen ngợi vì đã làm một việc rất dũng cảm.)

Một số lưu ý khi sử dụng cấu trúc Congratulate
- Cấu trúc Congratulate thường kết hợp với giới từ “on” và theo sau giới từ “on” là một danh từ hoặc Ving. Ví dụ:

- John congratulated Jenny on her promotion. (John chúc mừng Jenny vì sự thăng tiến của cô ấy.)

- Khi người học muốn tự chúc mừng bản thân mình, cấu trúc Congratulate sẽ kết hợp với đại từ phản thân (oneself). Ví dụ:

- Kathy congratulated herself on passing a good job. (Kathy tự chúc mừng cô ấy vì đã đỗ được một công việc tốt.)

- Mệnh đề quan hệ “that” cũng có thể được sử dụng trong cấu trúc Congratulate. Ví dụ:

- Peter congratulates Jessica that she finally finished her thesis. (Peter chúc Jessica cuối cùng cũng hoàn thành luận án.)

- Bên cạnh việc sử dụng cấu trúc Congratulate để chúc mừng, bạn cũng có thể sử dụng danh từ Congratulations để thể hiện sự chúc mừng. Congratulations có thể viết tắt là Congrats trong câu ngắn gọn. Ví dụ:
