Đề bài: Describe a party that you enjoyed yêu cầu mô tả một bữa tiệc mà thí sinh đã từng tham gia, chúng ta cần đưa ra các thông tin cơ bản sau:

• Đó là bữa tiệc gì?
• Được tổ chức ở đâu?
• Mọi người làm gì trong bữa tiệc?
• Và cảm xúc của bản thân về bữa tiệc

Câu hỏi thuộc chủ đề lớn là “Events, history and media”, một nhóm các câu hỏi phổ biến trong đề thi. Để trả lời tốt đề bài Describe a party that you enjoyed, chúng ta cần bám sát vào các gợi ý mà đề bài đưa ra và cố gắng giải thích chi tiết để nội dung bài phong phú và có thể “khoe” được vốn từ tốt hơn.

Câu hỏi 1: Đó là bữa tiệc gì? Chúng ta cần lên ý tưởng về một bữa tiệc mà bản thân đã tham gia để có thể mô tả cụ thể và chân thực nhất. Đó có thể là một bữa tiệc lớn như tiệc ở công ty hay tổ chức hơn, hay bữa tiệc thân mật với sự tham gia của một số người thân thiết như gia đình và bạn bè. 

Câu hỏi 2: Bữa tiệc được tổ chức ở đâu: Đối với câu hỏi này, chúng ta sẽ mô tả một chút vị trí mà bữa tiệc được tổ chức, và có thể giải thích thêm lí do vì sao lại tổ chức tại vị trí đó. Khi trả lời câu hỏi, chúng ta đã bắt đầu đi vào mô tả chi tiết tiến trình bữa tiệc, do vậy hãy chú ý đến thì/ thời mà mình sẽ sử dụng – và trong bài này chắc chắn là thì quá khứ đơn.

Câu hỏi 3: Mọi người làm gì trong bữa tiệc: Phần này là phần trọng tâm của bài nói Describe a party that you enjoyed, chúng ta cần mô tả chi tiết và cụ thể hơn về những hoạt động diễn ra trước-trong-sau bữa tiệc và những người tham gia đã làm những gì. Bữa tiệc thường có người tổ chức/chủ trì và khách mời. Do vậy, chúng ta cần kể ra chi tiết những hoạt động của họ. 

• Người tổ chức/ chủ trì thường chào khách, tổ chức các hoạt động kết nối mọi người, nhận quà,…. 
• Khách mời thường ăn mặc chỉnh tề, ăn uống, nói chuyện và chúc tụng.

Câu hỏi 4: Cảm xúc của bản thân về bữa tiệc: Chúng ta có thể dựa vào cảm xúc chân thật của bản thân để mô tả:

• Nếu bản thân là người chủ trì, có thể mô tả sự hào hứng, mong đợi và hồi hộp. Có thể nói thêm về dự định của bản thân sau khi bữa tiệc diễn ra.
• Nếu bản thân mình tham gia với vai trò là khách mời, chắc chắn là cảm xúc cũng sẽ khác. Có thể mô tả sự vui vẻ, hào hứng của bản thân khi gặp gỡ nhiều người. Hoặc, cảm thấy lạc lõng vì bữa tiệc quá lớn và đông đúc nhưng cũng nên chú ý rằng, bài nói yêu cầu tả một bữa tiệc mà bản thân “enjoyed” – thấy thích thú, nên những cảm xúc tiêu cực chỉ nên là một phần nhỏ khi mô tả.

I’m going to talk about one of the most memorable wedding parties I have ever attended until now. It’s about two years ago when my cousin got married. We have been good friends for years since the day we were born. So on his wedding day, I got up early in the morning to get ready, partly because I couldn’t sleep the night before. 

The wedding was held in the yard of our communal house, which is a tradition in our village that all the weddings should have the involvement of all villagers. Like other guests in the party, I got dressed and seated readily before the groom and bride came to our table to convey wishes and congratulations. After praying in front of the altar and asking for permission for their marriage from the ancestors, the couple came to address all the guests and made a toast.

Most of the guests spent time dining with each other, sharing stories about the newlywed couple and many other topics. Also, I noticed that some guests were so excited and got a little bit drunk that they came up to the stage and performed their favorite songs with a band playing live music behind them. Vietnamese people love karaoke, without doubt, and they seize every single social event to sing and dance cheerfully. 

It was a milestone event for my beloved cousin, and I felt so proud of him. When he and his wife exchanged their wedding rings, I realized that my cousin was a grown-up and now had a family to take care of. Suddenly, all the memories and experiences we had had together flashed through my mind. It was such a day to remember in my life.

Bài mẫu 2

One party that I particularly enjoyed was my friend’s graduation party. It was a celebration of her achievement, and it was held at a local restaurant in our town.

The restaurant was decorated with balloons and streamers in the school colours, and there was a large cake with “Congratulations!” written on it. People were mingling around, chatting, and laughing while the DJ played upbeat music in the background.

There was also a photo booth set up with props, and guests were taking turns taking pictures and posing with silly hats and glasses. Some people were dancing on the dance floor, while others were sitting at tables, enjoying the food and drinks.

What made the party even more special was the presence of the graduate’s family and friends, who had come from different cities to celebrate with her. It was heartwarming to see how proud and happy they were for her, and it added to the overall joyous atmosphere of the event.

I had a great time at the party. I enjoyed catching up with old friends, meeting new people, and taking silly pictures at the photo booth. The positive energy and excitement of the occasion were infectious, and it left me feeling uplifted and happy. It was a memorable and enjoyable party that I won’t forget anytime soon.

1. What types of party do people have, and why are parties important?

As communal events are part of human social life, understandably, parties are held in various forms and occasions. In Asian countries like China or Vietnam, people usually gather together and celebrate Lunar New Year and some other religious events such as Dragon Boat Festival or Mid-year Festival. In some Western countries, as far as I know, Christmas or Easter are mostly thrown during the year.

Such celebrations’ importance is undeniable as they give people chances to socialize and preserve cultural traditions and customs.

While the introverts, who are mostly against crowded parties and too much social interaction, extrovert people are on the other side of the spectrum. They love to feel belonged to a group and tend to  seek out social stimulation. That’s why you can easily spot an extrovert out of a crowd.

As I mentioned earlier, social get-togethers are of utmost importance, and with all the benefits they offer, people would never get enough of such events and will keep doing what they have been doing with parties and community-wide events. I think in the future, there could be something new in the ways people hold them in order to adapt with social changes.
