Well in fact, I would have to say that it depends really. Precisely, I would probably have to spend about a couple of hours on my computer to accomplish my work every night on weekdays.
However, if it is on the weekend, then I will indulge myself in recreational activities and not touch the computer at all. Instead, I would binge surfing social media or watching online videos to let my hair down on my phone.

As far as I can recall, it was when I was in grade 5 when my friends and I first experienced the Internet cafe within walking distance from my secondary school. It was a popular service of that time when people didn’t have their own computer and internet connection at home, so they could pay an hourly charge to do whatever they want. Although my father had bought my brother a computer, I was not allowed to use it for games or Yahoo which was worth the hype back then, so I would sneak out to those places.

In all fairness, I guess it’s fairly not necessary to possess computers anymore because nowadays people prefer laptops’ portability, light weight, and efficiency. Therefore, it would be just fine just having a laptop.
On the other hand, I sometimes need to work with advanced software for editing and animation. Most laptops are not compatible with them, so having a computer is not a bad idea at all.

Generally, my answer would be determined by different circumstances. If it is simple tasks, such as preparing documents, slides, or using searching engines online for information research, it would be a piece of cake for me.
However, If it is related to complex formulas in spreadsheets or digital animation, then I have to read self-help books or take online courses. For example, last year during the pandemic, I was serious about getting proper training for using Procreate, which is a software for digital drawing and turning what you draw into animation.

You should say
And explain what you think about this experience.
As you gave me this topic, the first thing that comes to mind would be the promise I made to my sister.
If memory serves me correctly, it was the last Tet holiday when I traveled to Dong Ho Village, which is located in Northern Vietnam and well-known for its traditional folk paintings. As soon as my sister knew that I would visit the village, she asked me to purchase a whole collection of different paintings inspired by traditional folktales. She has been a keen collector of traditional crafts since she settled in Denmark because keeping Vietnamese works of arts helps her ease homesickness. It was also my pleasure to help her.
What makes them remarkable is that the whole crafting process is done manually with locally sourced materials, including the bark of a native plant species, the shells of scallops crushed into powder, sticky rice, and natural color dyes. Intensive and painstaking labor work is required in making paper, carving wooden prints, and perfecting the painting with elaborate brush strokes of precise colors. They are truly one of a kind.
When I got to the village, I immediately visited a recommended shop and acquired all the pieces and carefully framed them before placing them in boxes for protection. When I returned home, I found a reliable delivery enterprise to ship them to Denmark. It was a long and exhausting process, you know, but I felt content at the same time because it was really nice to help my sister even though she is half the world away.
To cut the long story short, it was an experience of sentimental value for me.
Well, I guess it would vary from one another.
For some parents who are a bit traditional and preserved, they would not pledge to things whether they wanted to. It’s pretty common in good old-fashioned families in rural Vietnam.
In contrast, younger generations of families tend to grow more intimate with their kids, and it is widely-practiced among young parents as a way to give their word of reward if the children behave themselves or do good deeds.
Honestly, there are several things that children usually undertake to do to their parents.
But I guess the most common one would be about house chores, you know like sweeping the floors or washing the dishes.
The second one worth mentioning would be important matters, especially related to their academic performance.
Well based on my experience, it is fairly crucial to put action to words that you have committed. It shows how dedicated, responsible, or trustworthy you are to others. That’s the reason why lots of people feel guilty or unease when they fail to make their promises come true.
Yet, being human is to err, and we are not all mighty. Sometimes, we promise others the moon as a way to fill their hopes and put them at ease. It is not meant to hurt the persons, thus understandable.
Personally, it would come down to different situations.
If it is not of paramount importance, you know stuff, then I would probably turn a blind eye on it since there are things easier said than done.
Nevertheless, if the promises are related to work or punctuality, I would probably feel a bit annoyed and disrespected. If this is repeated more than a couple of times, I would be at the end of my tether.
