Thì hiện tại đơn là gì?
Hiện tại đơn là thì được sử dụng để diễn tả một thói quen/hành động lặp đi lặp lại trong hiện tại hoặc chân lý, điều hiển nhiên.
Ví dụ về một sự thật hiển nhiên sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn:
- The Sun sets in the West (Mặt trời lặn ở phía Tây)
- The Sun doesn’t (does not) set in the South (Mặt trời không lặn ở phía Nam)
Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn
- Always (thường xuyên)
- Usually (thường thường)
- Often (thường)
- Sometimes (thỉnh thoảng)
- Frequently (thường xuyên)
- Seldom (hiếm khi)
- Rarely (rất hiếm khi)
- Hardly (khó gặp)
- Never (không bao giờ)
- Generally (thường thường)
- Regularly (thường thường)
- Every + khoảng thời gian (day, week, month, year,…)
- Once, twice, three times, four times….. + khoảng thời gian (a day, week, month, year,…)
Các trạng từ này thường đứng trước động từ thường, đứng sau động từ to be và trợ động từ (Always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom,…).

Lưu ý:
- Với các từ có tận cùng là “o”, “ch”, “sh”, “x”, “s” thì khi dùng với ngôi số ít, thêm đuôi “es”. (go -goes; do – does; watch – watches; fix – fixes, miss – misses, wash - washes )
- Với các từ có tận cùng là “y” thì khi dùng với ngôi số ít, bỏ “y” và thêm đuôi “ies” (copy – copies; study – studies)
- Với các từ còn lại, thêm đuôi “s”. (see – sees; play – plays,…)

Đối với Câu phủ định, phần động từ thường, các bạn rất hay mắc phải lỗi thêm “s” hoặc “es” đằng sau động từ. Các bạn chú ý:
Chủ ngữ + don’t/ doesn’t + V (nguyên thể - không chia)
Ví dụ:
Câu sai: She doesn’t likes chocolate. (Sai vì đã có “doesn’t” mà động từ “like” vẫn có đuôi “s”)
=> Câu đúng: She doesn’t like chocolate.

Quy tắc chia động từ ở thì hiện tại đơn
Có 3 quy tắc chia động từ trong thì hiện tại đơn như sau:
1. Với các từ có tận cùng là “o“, “ch“, “sh“, “x“, “s” thì khi dùng với ngôi số ít, thêm đuôi “es”. Ví dụ: Go -Goes, Do – Does, Teach – Teaches, Mix – Mixes, Kiss – Kisses, Brush – Brushes.
2. Với các từ có tận cùng là “y” thì khi dùng với ngôi số ít, bỏ “y” và thêm đuôi “ies” Ví dụ: Apology – Apologies; Ability – Abilities).
3. Với các từ còn lại, thêm đuôi “s”. (Get – Gets, Swim – Swims,…).
Cách sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn
Có 4 cách dùng thì hiện tại đơn trong cuộc sống hàng ngày và hãy đảm bảo rằng bạn đã xác định đúng đại từ nhân xưng (chia ngôi của chủ ngữ) nhé!
1. Diễn đạt một thói quen hay hành động lặp đi lặp lại trong thời điểm hiện tại
Ví dụ:
My boyfriend always gets up early (Bạn trai của tôi lúc nào cũng dậy sớm).
➝ Chủ ngữ ” My boyfriend” nên động từ “get” phải thêm “s”
I usually go to school at 7 a.m (Tôi thường đi học lúc 7 giờ sáng).
➝ Chủ ngữ “I” nên động từ “go” không chia
2. Diễn tả 1 chân lý, 1 sự thật hiển nhiên
Ví dụ:
- The orbit of the Earth around the Sun is called the ecliptic (Quỹ đạo của Trái đất quanh Mặt trời được gọi là đường hoàng đạo).
- Tiger is a mammal (Hổ là động vật có vú).
3. Diễn tả 1 sự việc xảy ra theo thời gian biểu cụ thể, như giờ tàu, máy bay chạy hay một lịch trình nào đó
Ví dụ:
- The sky train in Hanoi leaves at 5.55 a.m tomorrow (Tàu trên cao ở Hà Nội khởi hành lúc 5h55 sáng mai).
4. Diễn tả trạng thái, cảm giác, cảm xúc của một chủ thể

Bài 2: Bài tập Chia Thì hiện tại đơn.
Ở dạng bài tập thì hiện tại đơn này, bạn sẽ phải chia động từ trong ngoặc sao cho ở dạng đúng nhất. Bạn sẽ phải lưu ý chủ ngữ và vị ngữ của câu để đưa ra quyết định sử dụng động từ đó ở dạng phù hợp.

Dạng bài Hoàn thành các câu cũng là một dạng phổ biến của bài tập thì hiện tại đơn nói riêng và các thì tiếng Anh khác nói chung. Với các câu cho sẵn, bạn sẽ phải chuyển sang dạng phủ định của câu đó.
