Job Purpose

The Presales Engineer – Storage is responsible for consulting, designing, and proposing end-to-end data storage solutions for enterprise customers, ensuring feasibility, performance, security, and cost optimization.

This role acts as a key bridge between Sales and Technical teams, enabling IDC Group to deliver advanced storage solutions from leading vendors such as Dell, HPE, and Hitachi Vantara, while driving revenue growth and strengthening the company’s technology solution capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• College degree or higher in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related fields.

• Preference given to candidates holding storage-related certifications such as Dell EMC, HPE, Hitachi Vantara, QNAP, VMware, SAN/NAS, or equivalent.

Professional Competencies

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Storage systems, including solution design, implementation, or presales.

• Strong knowledge of storage architectures: SAN, NAS, Unified Storage, Object Storage.

• Solid understanding of backup & replication, data protection, disaster recovery, and storage virtualization.

• Experience with products from Dell, HPE, Hitachi Vantara, QNAP or equivalent vendors is a strong advantage.

• Ability to build, present, and document technical solutions (proposals, solution designs, BoQ, technical documents, tender documents).

• Careful, proactive, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and passionate about technology.

• Preferred: Ability to read technical documentation and communicate with international experts in English (email, meetings).

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting, design, and implementation of Storage, Backup, and Data Management solutions for customers.

• Collaborate closely with the Sales team to provide technical consulting and develop tailored solutions.

• Design storage architectures suitable for different project scales (SAN/NAS/Object Storage).

• Propose backup, recovery, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery solutions.

• Support preparation of technical proposals and tender documentation.

• Assist with demos, Proof of Concept (PoC), and technical deployment within the storage scope.

• Work directly with vendors (Dell, HPE, Hitachi, etc.) and partners to stay updated on products, pricing, and new solutions.

• Participate in technical seminars, product launches, and lead-generation activities.

• Coordinate with internal teams to deliver large-scale contracts or projects.

• Continuously update knowledge on storage trends, data center infrastructure, cloud, and AI storage.

• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
