Background

In Vietnam, Green Building program aims to contribute to the green building market transformation in the country through the development and implementation IFC’s voluntary Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency (EDGE) certification. The program is expected to help reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy, water and other resource efficiencies associated with new building construction in Vietnam. Following the success of EDGE, BRI is a web-based hazard mapping and resilience assessment framework for the building sector. It is designed to facilitate access to location-specific hazard information, provide resilience measures to mitigate applicable risks, and improve transparency for disclosing a building’s resilience information between sector stakeholders.


The program is delivered in partnership with the UK’s Government and Australian Government.


IFC is looking for a local STC to support the Marketing strategy & activities of the Green Building project and Resilience Building project in Vietnam.


Objectives


IFC proposes to hire the services of the consultant for up to 50 days, from January 01, 2025, to June 30, 2025. The Consultant will support the EDGE and BRI marketing strategy to enhance the brand and visibility. Besides, consultant will support to advocate green buildings and develop EDGE/BRI business to expand EDGE/BRI market in Vietnam.


The EDGE Marketing Consultant is a dynamic and experienced marketing and communications professional with a deep understanding of the green building sector and a passion for sustainability. This role will be crucial in driving the development and strategic implementation of the EDGE integrated marketing) plans in Vietnam, ensuring effective communication, brand building, and stakeholder engagement.

The EDGE Marketing Consultant’s core responsibilities will be to:

  • Support development and lead the implementation of the EDGE integrated marketing plans, with direction from Country Leads for Climate Business for Vietnam.
  • The activities encompass strategies for content creation, digital marketing, public relations, events, and stakeholder engagement, with guidance from the EDGE Global Marketing Lead and the Communications Officers for the Vietnam.
  • Develop and execute impactful marketing campaigns that raise awareness of EDGE certification, promote its benefits to target audiences, and drive adoption across sectors, but with focus on high-growth typologies.
  • Plan and execute successful events and conferences, including industry gatherings, workshops, and training sessions, to promote EDGE and foster engagement.
  • Manage media relations and public relations activities, building strong relationships with media outlets, generating positive coverage, and effectively communicating EDGE’s value proposition to the public.
  • Lead content creation and management, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and informative content across various channels, including the website, social media platforms, email marketing, and publications, adhering to the EDGE, IFC, and World Bank Group guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communication activities, tracking KPIs, analyzing data, and generating reports to measure impact and inform strategic decision-making.


Tasks


The consultant will work with IFC team on the following:


  1. Develop Viet Nam Country Marketing strategy for EDGE and BRI (short, medium and long term strategy).
  2. Revise current marketing package offer, including Introduction, Brand value, marketing materials.
  3. Support Media Campaign/events for EDGE and BRI for FY25 and FY26.
  4. Other marketing related work (based on actual demand and businesses need).


Deliverables


  1. A document showing comprehensive marketing strategy.
  2. At least 50 articles/mainstream news feature EDGE/BRI.
  3. At least 50 social media appearances feature EDGE/BRI.
  4. Other deliverables on demand.


Qualifications


Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on sustainability, real estate, or green buildings preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing impactful marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, public relations, and event management.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging and informative content across various formats, including social media posts, email campaigns, infographics, presentations, and websites.
  • Digital marketing proficiency
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, native online advertising, and influencer marketing.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, drive collaboration, and inspire action across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track and measure program performance against KPIs, analyze data, and generate insightful reports from a development perspective.


Desirable Qualities

  • Sustainability knowledge. Familiarity with green building certification systems and knowledge of sustainability trends and market dynamics in real estate.
  • Industry experience. Knowledge of, and established networks within the Vietnamese real estate and construction sectors, or the financial sector, including firms and agencies servicing these.
  • Proficiency in English and capable of translating text to Vietnamese using available tools and resources.
  • Proactive and results oriented, Team player, Continuous learner, Customer-oriented.
