Job purpose

Fulbright seeks an experienced Librarian to collaborate with the University community to build the university’s emerging library collection from the ground up as a central academic resource in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be deeply knowledgeable about emerging technologies and will use that understanding as a foundation for leading the library toward the vision of serving the current and future needs of FUV’s faculty and undergraduate and graduate students.

Roles and Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the Librarian include but are not limited to:

· Implement the plan for the library in accordance with North American accreditation standards for university resources.

· Delivering high quality library services to faculty and students.

· Establishing a process of ongoing review, assessment, and improvement of library programs, resources, and services that will evolve with academic needs and expectations.

· Liaising with IT to effectively implement library technology systems and services.

· Collaborating with the Deans of the university’s academic programs and Dean of Students to leverage strengths and expand opportunities to address teaching and research needs.

· Managing the library's operations with a focus on ongoing improvements within a stable but not expansive budgetary context.

· Overseeing budget and operations to ensure the quality and integrity of all processes.

· Working with international publishers to secure copyright permissions for materials being used in courses.

· Managing all the periodicals (newspapers/magazines) and journals in the library

· Providing assistance to the students, participants and faculty as required.

Other duties

· Contributing to team efforts by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.

· Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to the employee by the company which may be adjusted from time to time.
