1. Teaching and Learning
- Provide in-class English and Vietnamese language support to students with diverse language
backgrounds to enable their participation and learning within the classroom setting.
-Develop out-of-class English and Vietnamese language sessions to support students with
diverse language backgrounds to develop their language acquisition.
- Develop and implement effective EAL teaching strategies and materials.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and support VAL students academic progress and to promote the highest standards of teaching and learning
- To formally report on children’s progress to parents and colleagues.
- Develop learner focused relationships to ensure that the EAL learners feel safe, respected and
are not afraid of asking for help and making mistakes.
2. Curriculum Development:
- Develop a progressive and effective VAL curriculum provision.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Stay current with best practices in both VAL education.
3. Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Manage student behaviour effectively and enforce school policies.
- Ensure the safety of students.
4. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues, including classroom teachers and specialists, to support
holistic student development.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Undertake supervision duties across the school when required.
