INTRODUCTION

Phenikaa-X is a subsidiary of the Phenikaa Group, driven by the ambition to become a leading technology company in the field of autonomous vehicles and industrial robotics in Vietnam. We have successfully developed level 4/5 autonomous vehicles and are currently focusing on researching and developing drone monitoring technologies, receptionist robots, and autonomous driving systems.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior / Lead Computer Vision Research Scientist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a group of engineers/scientists, work on cutting-edge perception technologies, and drive core innovations in autonomous driving.

Job Description

• Research, design, and develop state-of-the-art algorithms and models to solve complex Computer Vision problems, focusing on the Autopilot Perception Module.
• Lead and mentor a team of CV/ML engineers and researchers, ensuring high-quality research output and engineering practices.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Autonomous Systems.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations to assess the performance and accuracy of deep learning models/algorithms.
• Identify and collect relevant datasets and annotations to train and evaluate models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computer vision solutions into applications and products..
  
  

Requirements

• Master’s, Ph.D. or an outstanding BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or related fields.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision research and development, preferably in industry settings.
• Experience managing or mentoring a research/engineering team (tech lead, team lead, or project lead roles).
• Strong fundamentals in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.
• Proficient with Python and Deep Learning frameworks (Pytorch, JAX, …).
• Experience in solving complex problems such as 3D object detection, 3D reconstruction, stereo matching is a plus.
• Track record of publications in top-tier CV and ML conferences/journals is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex ideas effectively
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or real-time computer vision applications.
• Familiarity with tools like CUDA, or GPU programming.
• Knowledge of 3D vision, multi-view geometry, or multimodal learning (vision–LiDAR–radar).
• Experience leading research projects or coordinating cross-team collaborations
