Bài mẫu
There was one time that I had a discussion about whether women should terminate their pregnancy with a close friend. On the one hand, I hold the view that abortion is one of the human rights, which means that women have full control of their body and nobody can interfere. On the other hand, my friend says that having an abortion equals taking one’s life away, which could be considered inhumane for the baby.
I wouldn’t say that it was a major conflict between us, but I could sense the tension in the conversation. The rationale for my belief is that people cannot force women when they’re not ready to be a mother, well mentally, physically, and financially. If a child is born in a safe and loving environment, that may be a tragedy for both the mom and the kid. What’s worst is that the pregnancy might be the consequence of sexual harassment. I can’t imagine the pain the girl has to bear when being obliged to give birth like that.
However, my friend’s perspective is quite different. She was afraid that if abortion is carried out without sufficient consideration, it may lead to the downfall of morality, not to mention the fact that this person is preventing a child from enjoying his or her life. She couldn’t see the justification for this action as she questioned whether humans had the authority to decide one’s life like that.
In the end, we decided to agree to disagree on this subject as we respected each other as friends. I have to admit that the conversation was interesting since I’ve learned more about other aspects of this matter.

About 3 years ago, I was on a probation period at an education institute near where I live. That was the job in my dream since I can work in the education sector using English. Better yet, it’s a nine-to-five job so I could spend more time with my loved ones after work. If my memory serves me right, I got to work early during my first month to prepare for my tasks and have small talks with new colleagues.
I reached my office one hour earlier. Much to my surprise, there was one of my co-workers who also showed up that early. It was understandable for me to be too shy to break the ice and it took some moxie to ask him about his unusual earliness (of course with a soft smile). He revealed it is one of his daily morning rituals to boost his concentration to deal with urgent but not important tasks.
Surprisingly, he shared his impressive method for work without hesitation. Out of curiosity, I dug a little deeper about that methodology. Meticulously, he walked me through Eisenhower Matrix step by step, a killer method to up work performance. Believe it or not, he explained everything in such a clear way like he knows the method like the back of his hand.
I learned a key to success for myself from a conversation which I previously thought we would have just simply exchanged pleasantries. The man who was exclusively generous to share that nice method with me has been frequently on his A game and referred to as the best well-organized employee of the South team.

Câu trả lời mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 3: Interesting conversation
1. Are there any differences between men and women’s favorite topics?
Given that both genders have the same opportunity to access education and employment, I don’t think there is a disparity in terms of study or work-related topics. Nonetheless, when it comes to entertainment, I can see that men often talk about sports as competitiveness is one of their nature. Apart from that, women are quite much into fashion and cosmetics as they would love to beautify themselves.
-
-
- disparity (n): sự khác biệt
- be into (adj): thích thú với gì đó
- nature (n): bản chất
- beautify (v): làm đẹp lên
2. What is the difference between talking over the phone and face to face conversation?
I think modern technology has made online and face – to – face interactions quite the same. People can still see each other’s faces when communicating. However, to talk about the differences, having various filters on online calling platforms makes users have fun experiences. In-person meetings now occur when there are important events, especially when internal information is involved.
-
-
- in-person (adj): trực tiếp
- internal information (n): thông tin nội bộ
3. Why do some people get nervous when they give presentations?
I suppose there are two main reasons why a person is afraid of speaking publicly . First, it is only a matter of the lack of experience. When a person has enough hands-on practice, he or she would not feel nerve-wracking while giving a presentation. Sometimes, one’s character may be attributed to this action. It’s challenging for a person who is timid, but once again, practice makes perfect.
- hands-on (adj): thực tế
- nerve-wracking (adj): căng thẳng
- practice makes perfect: có công mài sắc, có ngày nên kim
