Position reports to Material Costing Team Lead. Responsible for reviewing T2 supplier material cost breakdown and negotiating material prices based on cost analysis. Position also works with material vendors to ensure all material costing standards, and policies are consistently applied in the cost breakdown and analysis to meet target margin requirements.
- Responsible for planning costing schedule and managing costing process within critical path dates.
- Validate and negotiate with vendors on costs for assigned material category. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to material costing. Utilizes material knowledge and cost analysis tools to achieve target costs and margins.
- Work closely with Development, Material team and suppliers for cost saving suggestions, work out should-cost for a new material and achieve the cost targets.
- Make cost analysis and report correctly and timely. Build and maintain a price history by season to keep track for future season reference.
- Ensures that concerns and challenges around Costing projects are reviewed and resolved by Costing management. Utilizes key footwear and manufacturing knowledge and tools to achieve target costing margin.
- Build and create relationships with vendors to ensure the best possible product and material costing.
