INTRODUCTION

Phenikaa-X is a subsidiary of the Phenikaa Group, driven by the ambition to become a leading technology company in the field of autonomous vehicles and industrial robotics in Vietnam. We have successfully developed level 4/5 autonomous vehicles and are currently focusing on researching and developing drone monitoring technologies, receptionist robots, and autonomous driving systems.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in cutting-edge technologies, with a primary focus on developing and implementing solutions to tackle challenges related to receptionist robot functionalities. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the robotics industry.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and optimize the full Drive-by-Wire (DBW) system, including: Throttle control; Brake control; Steering (EPS); Gear/shift control; Electric systems (EPB, power steering, etc.); Communication protocols: CAN / LIN / FlexRay
• Develop interfaces with ECU/VCU on Linux with internal frameworks.
• Architect and implement the Vehicle Interface Layer, bridging DBW with Control module.
• Work closely with Perception, Localization, Planning, and Control teams to validate system behavior in simulation and real-world tests.
• Build and maintain HIL / SIL / real-vehicle testing pipelines, analyze logs, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with DBW kit/ECU vendors to integrate real-vehicle solutions.
  
  

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent.
• Deep technical knowledge in automotive systems, including braking, throttle, steering, drivetrain, body electronics, ECU architecture, sensors, and vehicle dynamics.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, real-time/embedded development, or Linux-based systems.
• Expertise with CAN, UDS, OBD-II, CAN matrix, and CAN diagnostics.
• Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics: bicycle model, slip angle, lateral/longitudinal dynamics.
• Experience with vehicle controllers such as PID, MPC, LQR.
• Hands-on experience integrating or developing DBW/VCU/ECU for real vehicles or commercial DBW kits.
• Familiarity with robotics frameworks.
• Strong system thinking and ability to debug real-vehicle issues (instability, oscillation, over-steering, control delay, etc.)
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in autonomous vehicles, EV platforms, mobile robots, or complex control systems.
• Hands-on experience with: Dataspeed DBW Kit / AutonomouStuff DBW / SmartCar platform; EPS tuning; Torque/wheel-speed control; HIL/SIL simulation (CarSim, CARLA, LGSVL, CANoe…).
• Understanding of ISO 26262, ASPICE.
• Ability to lead a team of 2–5 engineers, define DBW roadmap, and guide system architecture.
