PRICIPLE ACCOUTABILITIES
1. GENERAL
 Contract and negotiation support: responsible for contract management and prepare supporting documents for the Head of Commercial during the negotiation process.
- Pricing and contracts: preparing tariffs, quotations and customer contracts ensuring compliance with the approved pricing framework and Company policies.
- Budgeting and Strategic Planning: assist with budget preparations and monitoring and contribute to strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for ongoing port development.
- Data Management: maintain an accurate and comprehensive customer database, with detailed customer and company profile.
- Organizational Contribution: deliver on objectives that align with the organizational strategy and business plans. Expected to suggest improvements to existing systems, practices and approaches and coordinate with relevant departments in improving productivity and working methods to better meet customer needs.
- Supportive Role: provide assistance or support to customer service activities as and when required.
2. SALES
- Sales and Marketing Execution: Develop and execute sales and marketing programs to achieve the company objectives regarding revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and update the customer database regularly. Maintain relationships with existing customers and actively seek new customer engagements.
- Competitive Analysis: Collect and analyse data of competitors' sales tactics and conduct.
marketing surveys on current and new product/service concepts to recommend directions for future development.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports, analysis and regular status reports on sales programs and market conditions. Prepare detailed tariff and cost analyses and comparative studies/reports.
-Customer Engagement: Meet with new and existing customers and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of the agreed terms and conditions stated in the customers' commercial contracts.
- Market Awareness: maintain continuous knowledge of industry & market trends and statistical data.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with Head of Commercial to attract customers and promote a high level of professional relations at various levels within the customers' organization.
3. LOGISTICS
- Logistics Planning and Development: Develop logistics solutions, plans and procedure for handling and moving containers via waterways, and roadways from warehouses, manufacturers' locations, ICDs/ports to SSIT and vice versa to maximize efficiency in terms of cost, time and reliability for customers.
- Consultation: Provide consultation to shippers/consignees on logistics services in connection with the designation of SSIT's port as departure or destination port.
- Marketing and Service Promotion: Develop marketing plans and value-added services to promote the logistics services for moving, handling, and storing containers as well as other types of cargo. Aim to attract customers for SSIT's logistics services to generate revenue and secure a favourable position to win and retain the customer base.
- Operational Oversight: Schedule, direct, and monitor the execution of logistics activities to ensure that customers' expectations are met to their satisfaction.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Select and manage relationships with key suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors (barging, trucking companies) to support Procurement team to minimize costs and ensure SSIT receives satisfactory standards of service.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with functional managers to ensure that the logistics activities are integrated with other parts of the business.

- Requiring a BA degree in business, transportation or related discipline to ensure a foundational understanding of business principles critical for managing sales and logistics in port operations.
- At least 7 years of management experience, preferably in the terminal or shipping industry or related industry within transport or supply chain management. This is to demonstrate a solid understanding of the operational nuances and specifics required in port operations-a critical factor for successful management in this field.
- Detailed understanding of the various links between other functional areas; the industry and the competition environment.
- Deep knowledge of port rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with the best practices in the industry, particularly regarding marketing, sales and business development.
- Ability to work confidently with customers both locally and globally.
